Tamron surprising Maurice with the appearance of his daughter Heather was the most wonderful part of the episode of her show. I was crying happy tears for their reunion. She was blessed to be adopted by Maurice and Paula. I also enjoyed his book, nothing general about it.

I have been enamored with this man since I first got hooked on watching GH back in 1993! I have always thought he was such an incredible actor and man in general. I mean come on he is Sonny Corinthos the coolest, smoothest mob boss there EVER was ☺️❤️

I am crying like a baby right now lol. I am 42 and remember watching GH with my granny, momma, and my sister when I was little. I always have continued to watch this show and love it. My Granny and Momma are both in heaven now and it always makes me feel closer to them as I watch it. Absolutely huge fan of Maurice as well as Sonny🙏💞 Congratulations on 60 years General Hospital

I remember watching GH years ago with my grams, great aunts, & cousins. I’m 54. It doesn’t feel real that GH is 60 years old & that I’m so damn close to 60. Maurice Bernard is a wonderful fellow. He responded to a message I left on a social media platform after his daughter left for college. Mine was leaving shortly after. He assured me it would be ok

💯. For some reason when my mom passed in 2017 I stopped watching alot of shows we watched together 🤷🏾‍♀️. I guess it’s to emotional. I’m 41 and remember watching all the soap operas with my mom and my grandma. I miss those two.

The first time I remember seeing him as an actor was Lucy and Desi. I started watching GH in the early 2000s and I was instantly hooked, also impressed with Maurice Bernard as an actor.

I adore Maurice Benard! He is one of the best actors on General Hospital. He plays Sonny to "T". I have suffered from severe anxiety and emotional issues for years. I have read his book cover to cover and could not put it down. What he does for educating people about mental health including bipolar is a major thing. More education is needed and not enough is done in that respect. Keep up the great work, Maurice.

I’ve been a fan of Maurice, since he starred in All My Children as Nico. When I first saw him as Sonny in General Hospital, I was so excited that he’s joined the cast of General Hospital. I’m glad that Maurice is open about his bipolar diagnosis, because there are many people who have bipolar and other mental illnesses. Maurice is a very blest to have his wife, children bd grandchildren.

Yep! I'd watch The Young and the Restless and Bold and the Beautiful on CBS, and then to switch to ABC for One Life to Live and General Hospital. Most people would just watch all the soaps on the same network, but not me. I'd only watch the good ones.

He and Johnny Depp has a similar sounding voice. Love it, love him!

I was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder when I was 25. I had always been a fan of Patty Duke and when I learned how honest and open she was about her diagnosis and all the work she did to bring awareness to the disorder she became a hero to me. Someone who fought for people who suffer along side her. There is still such a stigma that so many hide their mental health diagnoses and for someone in the public eye to be told to hide it is more detrimental to that individual and to the MH community as a whole. As a fan of General Hospital when Maurice told the world of his diagnosis I felt such joy. Someone else in the public eye was not hiding. Not only not hiding but sharing and brave enough to incorporate it into his role as Sonny. Mr. Benard, I personally want to thank you for all you do and I want to let you know that when you opened up about your Bipolar disorder you became another hero to me. You are a beautiful human.

It’s not her fault. If she could she would let the guest talk for hours, but that’s not the way television works, they have a time frame so they only have a certain amount of minutes to spend with each guest and the host have to abide by the rules, otherwise, they could get fired. The producers are the boss.

I finally listened to the audio version of his book awhile back, & have really grown to love the guy behind the character too. I actually feel a bit upset for him here, because he genuinely struggles with strong emotions. Really sweet guy, but situations or emotional blindsides like that can destabilize him in a way thats really really not good. When he said "oh, dont do that..." he was really serious. Watching state of mind, he has described what he goes through when hes not doing well emotionally, and how deep feelings can take over & send him into overwhelming spirals. While I know it was intended as a kind surprise, in this case I dont think it was good for him. Much love to this charming and sweet man, and his beautiful supportive family!
