Tracy breaks me! When she broke down after Lila died was the first time I thought “This woman deserves an Emmy”. I was 10. At 18, this scene happened, and I thought the same thing.

Awww...this was heartbreaking...loved when Danny held on to his great-grandfather's finger....RIP John Ingle...

I think it was nice they Michael A.j son and Danny Jason's son up there with Edward

Such a great series of scenes. AJ being late to say goodbye after trying to seek his grandfathers approval after all of these years moved me to tears. GH has the best characters.

@ 15:40: Monica:"But Edward was with us until the end....He spoke. It was just one word.....but it was clear as a bell.." Tracy: "What'd he say?" Monica: "Lila......."

I got bashed for this by a few people but I LOVED the final scene when Edward and Lila walked up the staircase together. Many (on the Facebook page I was on) thought it was cheesy. I thought it was perfect.

It was so sweet that Edward reached out and touched Danny

Regardless of what kind of character Tracy has ever been, Jane Elliott is a wonderful actress. While it wasn't John Ingle there, you knew that Jane Elliott was doing all of this completely from her own heart for the man himself. Just like when she cried for Lila when she had passed away.

Absolutely beautifully said.

That's how Tracy is. She has always put on a tough exterior, and she lashes out especially when emotional. But you see the brilliance of Jane Elliot playing Tracy when she breaks down crying. Tracy ended up breaking down in tears when Lila died, and she did it here as well when Monica put a hand on her shoulder.

That was a beautiful solemn moment of two fine actresses that are class act rivals extordinare GH royalty! The role of Edward was strong beautiful old school perfect!

I wish Steve (Jason) had been able to stay on at GH him and AJ (Sean) together along with Sam, Danny & Monica standing over him would have been magical and bitter sweet saying by to Edward.

LOVED the Quartermaines'. For over 30 years. All of them. Make you laugh hysterically one minute, and sobbing uncontrollably the next. They fight each other, but there for each other always. Tracy crying in Monicas' arms,,,, beautiful! All of them. Emmy-worthy.

As expected, Jane Elliot brought me to tears.

That scene with Danny and Edward. Just unreal.

How fitting that his last word would be 'Lila'.

I love the casting of Aj and Jason. Some actors who play siblings don't look at one another, but even as half-siblings, they look a like.

Liked that AJ. Esp when he & Jason got along.

GH had recast Edward twice already, going from David Lewis to Les Tremayne and then to John Ingle. Why did they not simply recast again?

Such a heartbreaking scene for tracey. Thank goodness Monica was there by her side

All the acting was superb. Jane Elliot again shows what an amazing actress she is. I loved the scene where Edward moved his hand to touch his great grandson, and baby Danny grabbed onto Edward's finger. I loved that Edward's last word was Lila. He finally got to join her after all these years apart. RIP Edward and John Ingle.

I know how AJ feels. I didnt get to say goodbye to my grandpa before he passed. No one would take me to see him in the hospital.

Tracy was cruel to AJ.

Yeah when she said "Your Edward Quartermaine, your my invincible father, show them what your made of daddy (breaking into tears) Please don't go. Great performance. I was taken aback to her finding out that Lila died back in 2004.

I hate the way they wrote AJ's character at the end with all the Carly & Sonny interference. AJ technically should have been the one to continue on with the Quartmain family legacy. Yes, AJ altered Jason's character via D&D but Jason made all his own choices thereafter becoming a hitman. Jason was/is glorified and AJ was drop kicked to the side. Carly pumped booze into him and Sonny stole his son. The writing seriously went south at that point. They started altering characters and rewriting history to which it lost credibility.

I agree They destroyed the character AJ gh has destroyed alot of characters and they make poor choices in storylines.

What a lovely scene Edward holding little Danny's hand . Jane is amazing as usual. What a treasure . Damn aj/sean looks so much like steve. What a shame michael was taken by sonny. Gosh aj had me crying. I love Sean's aj. Monica's the matriarch now and last of the og quartermaine. Traces gone I hope aj is being hidden again by monica bc things were getting to hot for aj with mad man sonny and his obsession with hating aj s guts which started before carly accidentally fell down the stairs. U know hate sex baby . I dont know how anyone can like sonny he murdered aj in cold blood his adopted sons real father . It broke Michael's heart so glad michael finally called him.dad and loved him as he died and nothing sonny or carly babes could do about it

Steve and Sean are actually cousins in real life.

Why didn't Monica just lie to AJ and let him see dead Edward and think it's mostly-dead Edward? AJ would never know the difference and he could clear his conscience a little bit.

"I believe he can, and you should too." Possibly the wisest thing anyone has said on a soap opera.

Phenomenal acting by everyone awesome writing!

Then you see scenes like when she is showing such emotion and you feel such pitty for her shows how good Jane Elliot is

+maureenavena33 Me too. A.J. really was trying to get his act together, and I thought it was ridiculous Tracy "banned" him from going upstairs to say goodbye.

As much as she regretted treating AJ like garbage with Alan she should have treated him better.

OMG! When and HOW did AJ come back from the dead? I haven't watched the show in about 4 years. I am glad to see the original (or somewhat original) AJ return. I always liked him best.

mary charles i’m still hopeful that he miraculously lived again, and it was Michael that hid him this time. Sean Kanan is such a fantastic actor.

It's not uncommon for soap characters to see deceased loved ones before dying. For example, Tony saw BJ. I wonder if Edward saw Lila before he died. I can't believe how good General Hospital has gotten in the last few months! I thought it was a lost cause.

OMG, John moved his hand, when he was supposed to be dead.

Jane played the hell out of Tracy. We loved to hate her, and yet felt her pain at the same time. Even in the beginning though I wanted to kick her ass I thought it it was so cruel that every man she loved, loved someone else and only saw her for her money. I never understood this as she was very pretty, and tough as hell!! She & Luke were "Funny" together but we know Luke will love Laura always. She should have at some point been given a love who loved ONLY her. Would have been interesting to see that side of Tracy.

I miss Tracey Q, as much as she's the one to love to hate but played an Excellent character!, even at the end!

I feel like this is the only time that Tracey ever supported Sonny and Carly over anyone else

Oh wow, thanks. Just finished looking at it. If I were still a soap opera addict, I'd feel really bad right now FOR MISSING THIS GREAT CLIFFHANGER!!!! OMG!!! OMG!!! I CAN'T BELIEVED I MISSED ALL OF THIS!!!! (breathing, breathing) But fortunately, I'm doing much better now. lol

I’d forgotten how cruel that Biotch Tracy could be. Even after all these years swing A.J. In tears laying on his Grandfather turns on the water works. It still gets me red hot in the face when Tracey got really cruel. Yeah AJ has done some fucked up things in his life. I don’t care what people have done . But preventing someone from saying goodbye to a dying loved one under a vast majority of circumstances is immoral, barbaric, vindictive, and downright CRUEL.

I’m glad Tracy Quartermaine is no longer around she is very very annoying old battle ax
