    Thank you for the excellent step by step instructions, they worked great in being able to fully clean out our Hot Point dryer. I feared for the worse of having to replace the unit or the heating controls, but a feel clean was all it needed.

    Thank you for showing this video. It was very helpful. Mine is an old GE dryer and is a little different but close to this one. My belt arrives tomorrow so I need to blow out all the lint inside so the install is nice and clean. Thank you.

    Excellent tutorial. I cannot emphasize enough about the long-sleeve shirt. (I have the scrapes to prove its necessity.) Unfortunately, something did not go together quite right as I now get two quick beeps when trying to turn the dryer on. Any quick advice about what did not get reconnected properly? (It is not obvious from visual inspection.) Thank you!

    My dryer (GE DCVH515EFWW) area below the drum on the front has a metal cover all the way across. Is there someway to remove the back panel or the metal panel in front without it collapsing on me? The dryer was scrubbing & squeaking. I should get the upper bearing & gliders with felt tomorrow, well today as it’s after midnight. I really need to vacuum the bottom left side of the dryer bc the exhaust pipe had come loose in the dryer. My dear husband didn’t put the little screw in that holds it in place 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ when we got it. I was able to get the exhaust pipe returned to place, complete with the screw replaced. I’m hoping to get the lint out, possibly test the element, & make sure the upper bearing with gliders work okay. Goodness knows we can’t afford a new one. Any advice is welcomed & appreciated.

Gracias

    You cant take this dryer apart from the back panel?

  • @wm973

    @wm973

    3 жыл бұрын

    No. Mine is solid 3 sided for rigidity. Mine's very old but simple dryers are all about the same. The back panel holds the heating element and drum bearing so it needs to be strong and rigid. There are some access holes on the back but they are not very helpful. This is my first attempt at repairing a dryer. Other than the washer being placed right next to the dryer made it a lot harder to get the dryer out. Hope this helps..

    @@wm973 so I ordered a new start switch and it wasn't it. I had left my dryer unplugged for 2 days after that. After reading and watching about 30 videos... I came across a comment that said to *turn the drum 10 times* in case a coin or something is caught and it isn't allowing it to turn or start. I did this, pushed the door switch about 4 times and turned the timer setting, pushed the start button AND IT TURNED ON 😳😅 after 1 week of it not working and us trying everything else

    @@Lizz033torres Congrats on getting it running. If you have an older dryer it sounds like a loose connection. I hope it doesn't happen again but if it does, carefully remove the connector/s and check if they are corroded or loose. Spade connectors are easier to check than multi connectors. Do you remember the order which you truned the drum/door switch/ timer/ and start button? HAHAHAHA

    If you want to be able to fix your GE or Hotpoint dryer. The first thing you need to learn is how to take it apart and how to put it back together properly. Learn how to do this and everything else will be very easy.
