Is it actually a Man of Iron? I think they’re two different things. A chaos android is an old model from the ancient space crusade game but it’s just a daemon possessed humanoid robot and nothing all that powerful. Whereas as we’ve seen in other BL novels the Men of Iron were highly advanced in their technology and weaponry and had weapons that could snuff out suns or crack continents.

It's referred to as a man of iron in the beginning of the book when Fabius trades it to the dark mechanicus reps. At the very end they plan on summoning the soul of Sota-Nul into it.

I love the fact that bile thinks the primaris marines are rubbish. Some of the crazy lore in this book was off the charts. Cawl is becoming a great character after a rocky start

Yeah mate there really was some great lore in this book. I find the great thing about Cawl in the audiobooks is he has some funny as lines that make you really like the guy. That and he’s never really panicking even when things are going to hell in a hand basket around him, he’s more curious then worried.

You are more correct than you know. Primus is a machine the same thing Frankenstein created. An ASSEMBLED being with a soul stapled loosely to it. I also believe that the Primarchs are VERY similar in creation. Victor would be a name that describes Him and His arrogance very well.

The book gave me more questions than answers about Primus. His soul is "stapled" on. Does that mean he was originally soulless? Is the soul he has a whole soul, or a mass of warp stuff? Is he closer to a primarch, like a minor warp god? Could he potentially have the deleted legions seed within him?

@@ClubQRoundDeux ​ well, Primarchs are organic, but they clearly have some sort of ultra powerful soul attached to them. Beyond superhuman. Quite literally reality altering fuckery. A pretty common theory (and honestly my favorite) is that each primarch has some sort of minor warp entity attached to it that causes this. In Sanguinius' canonical case, 2 minor twin souls. These beings are created from near pure scratch, so it's a fair and cool theory. My bet is that Primus is in a similar boat

Really makes you wonder how many Men of Iron are just standing around in some asshole's storage unit between a kayak and an end table or something

If belisarius cawll Can make new pylons to close rifts. They might be able to close the rift on terra. Which would free the emperor from a huge burden of holding it closed. The burden that killed Malkador the sigilight after only a single day on the golden throne. Not only this, but with that freed up powor. The emperor might be able to begin regenerating his body. And operating the astronomicon better. Furthermore Bellasarious cawl Could build more beacons Like are being used in gillamins empire. All throughout the imperium. Making astronomicon unnecessary. Opening a path for the emperor to make a recovery and leave the golden throne.

I find it a little extreme that Fabius was able to pull this off.

Hi mate, thanks for commenting. I definitely understand where you’re coming from. One point I left out of the summarised video is that the vast majority of cawls crew and equipment had been emptied out and given over to Guilliman’s indomitus crusade. So whilst the Zae Quaesitor is large it has a speck of crew on it, the majority of which were standing by to defend the Sangprimus Portum.

@@timecornthe hacking occured through a direct link from KVO to Cawls ship. Any kind of firewall or antivirus equivalent was irrelevant as KVO is like a direct link to and fro.

@@titanwargaming Cawl telling Guilliman that if he have him the position of Fabricator General then he would give him the galaxy. It was nearly a verbatim quote Chaos gave to Horus. Cawl just seems to be on the razor's edge of going down the same path as Magnus, thinking he has every base covered. With all that said, do we know that Cawl has disobeyed RG's orders, like not using Traitor gene seed, since RG came back? I'm sure Cawl did it in the intervening 10,000 years before, but has he done it since RG told him not to?

@@michaelhowell2326 that’s a really interesting take on the cawl/ horus perspective mate nice one. I don’t recall Cawl playing with primarch or traitor geneseed since Roboutes return but RG has ordered a new wave of primaris and said he doesn’t care how it’s done so who knows how Cawl will interpret that? There’s also the plot on whether cawl will attempt to help Primus by instilling new progenoid glands using that primarch mix so we’ll see where that takes us. The fact Magnus gene seed was mixed in there then Fabius in the novel said all his own clones primarchs fell to chaos. There’s heaps of avenues for sub plots to branch into.

I would love a new Bile's Creations line of models. make them like Necromunda kits with lots of options and configurations.

Bile sounds like the Emperor when he's talking about his new men. There's a pattern here. Old ones: Krork and Aeldari. Emperor: Primsrchs and Astartes. Bile: New men.

I have an inkling that Primus might be a crude attempt at remaking Big E.

@@Wigalot He's mix of all 20 geneseeds. Umped to ridiculous levels, so should be wayyy stronger that any other Marine ( upgraded or not). Hes also a prototype for something. Super Space Marine? Who knows, but Cawl wanted to go somewhere with that before He realized its failure/bad iedea. Super Primarch? could be made with just 1 or 2 geneseeds that are compatibile. Why not go step forward and make weaker wersion of Big E to dominate in realspace and warp. Then make milion of them. Profit. Other than that, I dunno, had a feeling.

That’s a cool observation mate because as you say he did have numerous primarch generic signatures within him and Fabius did say he is just lucky Primus didn’t know what he was.

I want to see a chaos primaris equivalent, bringing them in line with Primaris in size and power, before the chaos powerups...

I do agree mate, it's a tad underwhelming. When Fabius Bile states to Cawl that Primus not knowing what he was, meant he wasn't able to use his full ability against him I find that a bit over the top.

@@titanwargaming I think it also served to really show what Bile's New Men are actually capable of, and it was mentioned that his current new Men body guard looked small and weak. Primus, supremely confident, simply underestimated her. As Bile knew he would. It's the same principle that allows a guy like Batman to take down Superman. Supes has 2 weaknesses, kryptonite and the heart of a goody two shoes. Prime is so powerful he doesn't expect the unexpected. He just powers through problems.

It’s been a while since it was mentioned in black legion and the Fabius bile trilogy but it’s back baby! I’m interested to see what Bile can do with it as he stated he wanted to make his own created better then a primarch rather then recreating the past ones which all eventually fell to chaos.

Those are great point mate. The great rift has been canon for years now and my boys the grey knights still haven't stepped up to kick some butt. Can't wait for the daemon hunters to have their moment in the light given the galaxy is drowning in chaos.

Was it ever explained anywhere in 40k lore how Abaddon gained the knowledge of where the pylon worlds were to crusade against them? I get the whole cicatrix maledictum storyline came well after his original black crusades and they were essentially retconned into this, but being that the knowledge of the locations of these pylon worlds is so significant to the Imperium and Cawl, I’m wondering how Abaddon found out….

This is quite funny watching in my tech priest cosplay lol.

I'm a Leighman. So I'm still very confused or having a hard time understanding the whole story. So basically.. Cawl Needed to get some shit Done for Gman but even though he was like no pressure I'll adjust. Cawl like Naaah I got dis. So he hits up his old Homeboys from Psychics back in the Day for all the Necron Tomb Worlds or and Meet up in Biggest Walmart Parking Lot. Then a frenemy was in the shadows. Stepped out as a Hollow Gram. They Chopped it up, while scheming on each other. Then Boom. Shit went down, and then Cawl Flex the new Whip. Bile was like ion want no Primaris Shit like Delta weed. I'm making that Loud and Pure. And I cloned Primarc, Cawl Laughed and said Cap. Oh so that were you at, and you some ways out. And bile was like ueno my Black Mechanics homeboy came from the Back of Hood. Pew Pew Bang Bang, knights went at it. Then I fell asleep.

Well, the scarabs and cryptek constructs are just automated ai so it's very possible they did as part of the programming. Necrons did fight a race that could access the warp so it's not too far fetched to believe they just sent out a bunch of shit to build pylons on worlds wherever they could

No the Eye of Terror formed long after the creation of the pylon networks ,pylon network prevented its expansion .Slannesh birth may have powerful enough to create a localised breach at point where the network had degraded

Hey mate thanks for commenting! If gw just made primaris chaos marines I’d be super disappointed. If they made mongrel weak blood super soldiers that weren’t accepted by the legions and who some had a confused hidden allegiance to the emperor I’d find that interesting.

Love the rivalry of these two, just like orokin and trazyn these two have done things that their own factions could not help but respect and notice the extreme contributions to either side and that without these two specifically the galaxy would be an entirely different place. Also, the sheer fact that guilliman had tasked belisarius with more marines saying damn the consequences and knowing that cawl had indeed already made these marines but kept them secret as they are from the traitor legions like iron warriors, world eaters, etc. This would reinforce the Imperium even further all the while giving guilliman exactly what he wanted weather he liked it or not. I love these two and own my own small faction of each 😅 P.S. sorry but if cawl did integrate necrotech into imperial tech then he would be damn near the status of the emperor in the machanicus standing as the next avatar of the omnisi. Knowing also he had already been approved by the emperor of mankind to do it his destiny is already set of the path to apotheosis

I think that primaris is what could be called a biological son of a primarch using genetic material scavenged and the little remaining information about the primarch creation process with the dna of caul acting as filler for the emperor’s dna and missing lines of genetic code from a primarch.

I assume he does not just nab a custodes because they dont have any super DNA as they were built rather than constructed by genetic code?

That's a great point mate, I'm not sure. Personally though I think Bile would love to get his hands on a Custodes given they're the Emperor's greatest gene enhanced creation. Bile really enjoys seeing what makes things special then combining all that accumulated knowledge into other broader projects or "greater" creations as he would like to believe.

First of all NO custodes were ever "built" ALL of them are HAND PICKED as toddlers, Valdor the very first child EVER! to be sought after by the Emperor PERSONALLY!, and then gene enhanced by with the Emperor's very own DNA, and then HAND raised, molded and trained in EVERY form of ranged, close quarter and hand to hand combat, war tactics, battle strategies, battlefield and global logistics, politics, governance, philosophy, art, etc... by the Emperor himself into the very first and most powerful, revered, respected, feared and decorated (basically Primarch level) Adeptus Custodes. Big E was so close to him he considered him his actual son and 2nd true friend. The big E had a hand in the creation of every custode walking while he was still "alive", even asked there honest opinions when it came to everything he did in those early years. even to this day in the 40k setting NOTHING has changed with the "creation" process of custodes besides the Emp PHYSICALLY being involved, (he's still involved though), but they still use the Emps legitimate DNA and the steps and process's are still the exact same. Big E has always said and some primarchs have said that the custodes are the Emps pinnacle of creation/gene-crafting/manipulation. full stop. there all basically flawless in design, perpetually and unwaveringly loyal to big E and his designs for humanity, impossibly incorruptible and every single one of the 10,000 custodes is a Jr primarch, with the very first custodes Constantine Valdor being on par physically with lower tier Primarchs and out dueling higher tier primarchs in 1v1's, all this without the "warp soul" which makes a primarch,... a primarch. So given that each and every custode is the literal pinnacle of Big E's DNA/gene crafting with the literal blood of the emp flowing in there veins (even in the 42nd millenium), why wouldnt bile want to get his hands on one, assuming he was even capable of doing so despite some trash GW/BL authors heinously making them seem like fodder, no better then a SM when in actuality each one of the 10,000 is 1 STEP below a literal demi-god. not trying to tear u a new one, just want u to understand the magnitude and importance of each individual custode just incase ur new to the 40k universe. And just what type of gene craft gold mine bile would have if he got his hands on one, BUT custodes have been around since before the 30th millennium and plenty have died in those 12,000+ years and none of the enemies of mankind have even attempted to field a "prototype" of anything like a custodes. So who knows, maybe there DNA and gene crafting is just on a whole nother level then what anyone else has even seen and even bile himself knows it would be pointless for him to try and reverse engineer or even replicate the Big E's most impressive and intricate work.

So chaos primaris marines soon.

Sometimes I think GW over does it with the strategic genius of chaos versus the bumbling of the Imperium. It’s always a last gasp. attempt to seize a half hearted victory from complete defeat that is the narrative. I wish they would change it up a little bit to balance it.

The Imperium has played defense since the Great Crusade. They're not in a position to really switch back to offense (not real, Great-Crusade-style offense). They're always in a "reaction" situation.

Why dont the imperiums create mas of iron that can be controlled by regular soldies that way the would have an advantage and double there numbers with no soldier killed and they would be more usefull and more lethal if they control an iron arnored body

What if the cicatrix maledictum eventually gets expanded until it resembles the chaos star on the galaxy it's just like chaos to leave some spaces untouched so they can constantly war with them 😂

My thoughts would be cawl is now going to adventure to the southern end of Sanctus which we don’t often see much of, he’ll be exploring a world which has been locked in time since possibly the era of the Old Ones and he still has to create a fresh wave of Primaris for Guilliman to venture forth into Nihalus with. Lots of ways his story can be furthered now which is good but I guess the best things Cawl got from this book is his best iteration of Qvo yet and and alliance with two forge worlds.

He gets another forgeworld supporting him after the Chaos attack, and the nominal grudging submission of the necron he’s been holding hostage.

the Primarch Corvus Corax got the date from his father on how to create the Primarish witch he did back in the Horus Heresy this was then stolen and a corrupted copy left behind the one who stole it was Omegon Omegon was kild by his Brother Robute Guilliman who then gave this thing to Cawl and told him to make the Primarish there Cawl did not do this by himself and it took him a long time while it took Corax a month can we please use the lore we have been given and if people are going to say ''but the two Special Raven Guard batches created by Corvax where not called Primarish'' let me remind you of the description they where larger stronger faster tougher dose this remind you of something they also lost to the older marines due to lack of experiences just like the Primarish

Thanks for commenting mate! Just a minor adjustment there, the sang primusportum contained the knowledge to create primarchs and astartes, Cawl put his own spin on this to create Primaris.

Sort of mate but it also eludes to Guilliman set to take a massive force into Nihalus as well as Cawl having the necessary knowledge to create possible primarchs. There’s also the story arc seeing cawl, Accatran and Tigrus allying to close the great rift itself and turn the pylon technology into chaos fighting null weapons

That's a good point you make mate. I really hope Black Library explore some weird and ancient points in Cawl's exploring of the world trapped in time. There could be anything stuck there including crazy technology like you've mentioned or even Necrontyr who haven't done the soul transference.

Haha yeah looks to be something brewing. Abandon and Bile now have the gene seed of a founding grey knight as well as who knows what in regards to primarch genetic material. Very interested to see how this is built upon in the future. ADB has said previously his black legion trilogy is the first of a series so we may even see some more detail through there. Who knows! Exciting times ahead.

Chaos players: "We want primaris." GW: "LMAO did you think we would miss a chance to sell models?" Couldn't let the Imperium have this one? Chaos gets all kinds of cool shit.

I sort of see where you're coming from mate though it does seem a bit ludicrous the amount of space marine Lieutenants that have been released over the last few years. Don't worry, I don't think it likely Bile is going to nail that recipe but time will tell!

I feel ya mate. Been looking for world eater eightbound models for almost a year now.

Alpha Primus getting rekt by nobodies just shows how pathetic Cawls creations are. Readers went from thinking he may be able to fight a Custodes to being barely above a Primaris. Pathetic.

Just my opinion by I guess it’s a way of ensuring more sophisticated geneseed lands in the hands of chaos whilst fleshing out Primus and the depths of cawls experimentation further. But keep in mind that bile did say he was lucky Primus didn’t know what he was otherwise it would have gone a very different way.

not only was he fighting one of the most power chaos SMs. but was tanking hits from a weapon made to hard counter him until his body gave out. I don't think you can call that weak.

SPOILER ALERT - DO NOT READ FIRST After reading the book, I think Alpha Primus is an amalgamation of all the primarchs into one being. Not in their totality, but their gene seed and he modified his own being into the blend to create him. He put his own humanity, tested for 10,000 years against chaos alongside that of the 18 known primarchs (maybe all 20 who knows if he has that access, I doubt it). I think Alpha Primus is as close to a god as one could be created even surpassing the primarchs, but he is in comparable terms still a child to his own strength and understanding of his own power leading to what happens at the end of the book. I also think he included not only the genetic code of the loyalist primarchs, but of the traitor primarchs. That is my current theory, and why Bile was so impressed.

Thanks for leaving such a detailed comment mate, I love your theory. He definitely did include traitor gene seed as Bile sensed the cyclops (magnus) within Alpha Primus. If he is an amalgamation of all 18 to 20 primarch gene seed then that would be an amazing feat though it is a bit strange that he hadn't tapped into more power. Even Bile's clone of young Fulgrim was able to harness his gifts from an early age.

Since a lot of the Fallen are now the redeemed they're going to get Primaris. and I think it would be more interesting if chaos forces got something else besides another copy of Imperial gear. some other type of superhumans.

@theezekarion164 it would be really cool to have dark mech models. The horrible monstrosities you could build would present so many modelling opportunities. Hopefully with Vashtorr on the scene and now talk of Kalbor Hal and Nul in 40k, this is a step in that direction.

hey as a creator and active member in the community, how have you been doing? do you find the WH40k lore channels talk about the same topic some times? and a 5k this going to be easy I remember when major kill just had 12k

Hi mate, thanks for commenting. That’s a really interesting question. There definitely is a lot of the same content out there. Especially when it comes to deep dives on factions, characters etc. that is why I try to do thing like the times custodes and grey knights were slain or mysteries and stuff like that because otherwise it just feels like your spewing information at the viewer instead of talking about something cool or telling a story. Also thank you for the motivation, to close the gap between myself and major kill would be a dream. I’d love to get to multiple uploads a week and it’s something I’m working towards but with a family and full time work it’s just taking a while to get into place.

Booooring.... as every story involving chaos special characters. You can tell the outcome of this story as soon as you read the blurb. Chaos can never fail and if it fails it's part of a greater scheme. It was clear to me from the excerpt on the website that Bile would go for Alpha and that he would succeed. Dumb reactions to dumb traps. A pity Black Library can't come up with more creative ideas and twists.
