Genders in Norwegian
Let's have a closer look at how the genders work in Norwegian!
Hankjønn (masculine):
- En bil, bilen = A car, the car
- En hund, hunden = A dog, the dog
- En mann, mannen = A man, the man
Intetkjønn (neuter):
- Et hus, huset = A house, the house
- Et bord, bordet = A table, the table
- Et gulv, gulvet = A floor, the floor
Hunkjønn (feminine form):
- Ei jente, jenta = A girl, the girl
- Ei lampe, lampa = A lamp, the lamp
- Ei lue, lua = A winter hat, the winter hat

Another helpful lesson! I'm doing Norsk on Duo and they do sometimes throw the curveball of the feminine form: Ei bok, ei jenta, ei kvinne; Boka, Jenta, Kvinna and it definitely accepts those answers

Great! I think it's useful to just memorize the feminine nouns from the start. It will be so useful later on 😀
A PDF accompanying another channel's video contained the following, and I'd appreciate your opinion. Hunkjønn is optional. Regular hunkjønn nouns can also be conjugated using the word endings of hankjønn. It is optional whether you choose to say “ei jente” or “en jente”. You can also choose to say “jenten” instead of “jenta”. Some dialects prefer to stick with hunkjønn conjugation, while others consistently conjugate hunkjønn nouns using the hankjønn endings.

begge er ok. Man kan si døra/døren :)
So if I understood well, there is no definet article which precedes the definet word!
