    Making your dream come true! Click here to join the campaign: kimonomom.com/news/2023/08/making-your-dream-come-true-celebrating-1-year-of-kimono-mom-store/ Actually I am struggling to balance work and family time right now. It is because Moto has this mindset that we are not giving up, we are moving forward and trying to figure out what style works best for our family. Thank you Moto for always being with me in my thoughts, thank you Sutan for giving us a reason to keep trying, and thank you so much Kimonoko for supporting our family!🥰❤

    I remember the first videos. When KimonoMom was doing cooking video guides while her baby was sleeping. Mom had to be extra careful and quiet not to wake the little baby girl. It was so cute and probably captured many other viewers at the time. The little daughter is really cute! But also the story about her husband and how they found eachother and grown together is really cute too. All love to you all ❤

    This video gave me hope. At 45, I gave up the idea of marriage and being a father. Maybe I shouldn't. Moto made great points. I was raised in a traditional home similar to what he described; husband works, wife cooks, and cleans. That's okay, if both agree. But I feel like Moto that times are changing. If she had a difficult day, I'll make dinner & clean the kitchen. Love and appreciation can be shown in more ways than just intimacy.

    Please don't give up! If you are someone who believe in this kind of a family dynamic, then your age might play in your favor actually. With age, you are more likely to have a secure, more advanced career, that is going to allow you to become the provider of the family, allowing your wife to become a homemaker, and also to raise many children. Years also bring maturity, and you are going to need a lot as the head of the family to guide your loved ones. (source: my husband and family :) Husband was 35 when we got married and was making decent money due to a 11 years career already behind him)

    Why get married and have kids? Pressure from society? Religious beliefs? I’m in my 40s, don’t want to get married and never wanted kids. Been with my girlfriend for 13 years, she doesn’t want to get married nor have kids either. You’ll have a ton more money saved up when you retire and then you can travel the world. But hey, if you want kids, prepare to pay for everything for at least 18 years. You’ll be in your 60s. Good luck!

    Normally, I would say 18 years is too much of an age difference but seeing how hardworking and supportive Moto is, I think the most important thing is not age but how mature the man is for a relationship and family life to work out. Nowadays, people don't get married nor have children because if they do so, women have to bear the majority of the responsibility. Society pushes more and more responsibilities onto women under the pretense of "female empowerment" whereas men take on less and less responsibility. As a result, we see 35 year old man-childs and tired, worn-out women taking care of their grown-up husbands on top of their kids and working at the same time.

  • @brahtrumpwonbigly7309

    @brahtrumpwonbigly7309

    Quit the opposite. Men are forced to take on less responsibility and in turn flounder in life, while women are told taking on responsibility that should be the man's is the only way to beat the patriarchy, so they avoid marriage and children in exchange for careers, and when they do have a family, try to be the heads of the household and choose men who will accept a role as follower. If they don't get that, they divorce because he was "too controlling".

    This whole age gap stuff is an American/western creation. Outside tge western world, people don't care that much as long as both adults are committed to their relationship, family & sometimes community. Only in America some fake psychologist is going to run some numbers & choose 7yrs or such as the maximum acceptable gap. Then ofcourse society eats it all up.

On the flip side some fathers working until late and the mom spends money on her luxury brands being ignorant of everyone but herself. It is really sad to see the EXTREMES in family roles.

Of course there were skeptics that the age gap was too great and we couldn’t possibly last, but when you know you’ve met your soulmate, you know. My husband turns 70 this year and I am just enjoying every day with him and helping him by cooking as healthfully as possible and encouraging him to stay active. I am esp touched that you are also very sensitive to the needs of the children when both parents are so busy working outside and coming back highly stressed and tired to tend to the children. Balancing, helping out at home and priority is the key. Love that you both spend much needed family time together and talk openly. There is much to be said about an intact family unit and roles in the household. Too often these days children get shipped off to daycare and preschool as soon as possible. That doesn't allow the children to bond with their parents. Instead they are bonding and strangers, or sadly, in the case of children that do not have steady caregivers they are constantly looking to bond with someone. What an amazing and loving family.

    Happy birthdayyy Moto san 🙌✨🙏 I really like your genuine conversations. It's true in Japan. People were told that the woman will take care of the house and kids and the dad will earn money. But things change now. The mindset is changing. I live in France and my dad doesn't know how to cook but do the chores at home. He never complains about my mom's food because he is so greatful.

    @@AndrewHeller-jn7dx I agree that Moto-san is an exceptional husband in Japan. I think you meant to say, “most guys _still_ haven’t changed,” instead of, “dyill haven’t changed.” In the paragraph that follows that one, you’re missing a “to” between “likely” and “succeed.” In the sentence after that, “couple” is missing an “s.” I think the biggest pitfall of a considerable age difference between spouses is that if their emotional maturity is imbalanced, it won’t be an equal partnership; instead, the elder spouse will be dominant in most aspects of their relationship, and treat the younger adult like an inferior. That’s why I really admire the way Moto-san doesn’t act like a domineering sempai in their household: instead, he and Moe-san support each other and communicate so well to ensure that each of them, including Su-chan, can have their needs met.✊

    What a beautiful and healthy mindset Moto-san has. It's no longer about dividing work based on gender roles, but working together to upkeep the household. To me it's much more balanced and at the end of the day no one is resentful, stressed, or burdened because you're looking out for both partners well being. After all, teamwork makes the dream work. Such a wonderful family, Sutan will grow up to be an amazing daughter because of such great parents.

    Congratulations! Happy anniversary! I think the way of thinking that women worked inside the home and men outside was everywhere from generations ago. It was like that here in the US. But with so many world changes both parents had to work to pay for things. So it should take both to work inside the home as well. I have noticed that some families have stayed with that mindset because they wanted to. Some families here the dad stays home and the mom works outside the home. All should contribute to the success of the family whatever they may be. ❤

    I just turned 39 and have never really had a long-term relationship. I've given up on the idea of marriage and having a family. It just didn't feel like I'd ever be lucky enough to meet someone who'd want to share their life with me, and I resigned to the idea that I'd be alone my entire life, but seeing Moto and his family has given me a tiny glimmer of hope that maybe I'm not too old for it to happen for me.

    Happy birthday, Moto. Hope you've had a great day and Moe 'spoiled' you! I think that the 'man goes to work, the woman looks after the home and family' mindset is gradually disappearing with the onset of modern living/thinking. Your working as a team is to be commended, especially when caring for Sutan. You've given that cutesy little girl some experiences that will be with her for many years to come and will, one hopes, give her a 'head start' when she starts school formally. Meanwhile, continue to enjoy and encourage each other and be the best you can be.

    You two are so sweet together, I hope to have a relationship like that someday. My parents aren't the best example of a good marriage, but I did have my extended family's relationship to look up to and give me hope. I remember as a kid spending part of my summer at my aunt's place, seeing her and her husband both coming home from work and him doing the cooking while she did the laundry...it really stuck with me how different their relationship was to my parents at the time. Both of my parents worked at the time but I have never, ever in my life (not even now as an adult) seen my dad do any household chores. You two are giving Sutan not only a loving childhood but also setting her expectations and hope for what an equal, loving, supportive relationship should look like.
