Gen Z shake versus the Millennial Pause

Ғылым және технология

Are you guilty of the Millennial Pause? 👀
Pausing at the beginning of a talking video and starting with a filler phrase is the perfect recipe to make viewers scroll past your content.
A great way to engage your audience is to make them feel like they’re your best friend and you’re sending a video specifically to that one person. 💚

The millennial pause is from our old phones not starting to actually record for a second or two after we hit the button. It's a trust issue that some of us have with our technology. That said there are those of us that noticed when the shift happened.

not just phones. all visual, and alot of audio recording equipment worked that way. only recently do we have near instantaneous activation of the equipment. imagine in the days before vhs. ppl went thru alot of work to make a video, so they'd make damn SURE it was recording before they wasted time acting, both for cost effectiveness, and just sheer irritation of things not working as planned. rerecording the same scene over and over burns u out FAST.

Apparently Zoomers don’t breath. It’s just so exhausting when people cut out every pause, leaving milliseconds between phrases. It’s like reading a text without punctuation. And to be fair… if you need to resort to these tricks, then maybe … millennial pause … just maybe, your content just isn’t really all that interesting. I find myself realizing the shit I’m watching is total garbage, halfway through the video because of this. And people scroll like zombies. Kids, grown ups.. even my parents who lived less than half their life with internet.
