Shaman = Money. Played on console - Sega Genesis, Model 1 (TMSS). This run is subject to the rules of the leaderboard at www.speedrun.com/shadowrun_ge....
It's been 5 whole years... time for a new route RESET! Plenty sloppy and lots of time to save. Running with Rianna is slower but safer/more consistent -- Phantom would be a faster option. Special thanks to twitch.tv/knewster for the new tech, including Hollywood skip & Sharkey trip!
This run got super good luck on the Matrix dip and Thon battle. The rest was okay, not too terrible. No goal time yet but expect the time to drop off easily.

RE-ROUTE NOTES
- The escort job to start the run is manipulated. Requires hard reset (or restart from menu if running on flash cart), waiting at least a couple seconds before starting (not precise), and shooting off in the Jump House to cycle the RNG. This manip is not exactly the same on emulator due to timing differences, but you can still get a similarly fast courier job (running w/ Bizhawk v2.3.2).
- Money route is kinda tight since we don't hit datastores in the Matrix anymore, but I tried to incorporate some wiggle room so certain untimely deaths won't necessarily end the run. You also have several chances to pick up spare change from random drops.
- We now use the Sharkey contact to breeze the 4th trip to Salish. This requires you to burn nearly all the cash you get from the Ogami contract, but we can still manage to afford at least 3 patches for the final battle (+1 stolen from Rianna). [Note: for this route, I would keep buying patches until I drop below 813 nuyen, which still allows for a surprise death in Puyallup, I believe.]
- Due to rerouting the final Salish trip, we need to earn 3 extra points of karma before the bar run. You get 1 point from the job to start the run but need to earn 2 more via kills. The kill quota is 33, some of which you can pick up by shooting civilians (but no more than 2 before buying the 3rd and final passport).

This is such an amazing run. My buddy and I were obsessed with this game as kids. Never could find the damn dragon scale but just doing endless shadowruns was plenty fun. Discovering the information broker was a revelation haha
Nice run! Very fun to watch! I loved how you had Rianna sneak through Mitsuhama and shoot Aragorn.

why does cyberpunk has a sweet spot for german language? You can hear a lot of gearman language in original bladerunner movie: Warte bis die bullen weg sind/wait before the coppers are away" and now after like 20 years I finally understood what the voice in some bars say - it saz - shatten lauf (in german) - which means - shadow run - in english

i can think of few reasons: historically germany was kinda leading industrialization. bands like kraftwerk (and krautrock genre in general) influenced pop culture a lot with futurism. german philosophers like hegel, nietszche, or marx predicted and/or influenced modern times. not to add at least a small german reference in a technocratic dystopia wouldn't be intelligent to say the least.

In Bladerunner, German is just one of many languages that make up "cityspeak". In regards to Shadowrun, Germany is the biggest market for the game after the U.S. and it has a big fan community and got lots of locally-published sourcebooks and novels.

Nice run there. I had no idea there was so much back and forth to beat this game. The technique of selling the shadowrunners loot for cash seems kind of funny but whatever works!
Well done! I just finished the game myself (again) but that glitch on Ilene Two Fists is awsome! Also you nice to see that STARK which is the lone survivor of Michel's Runner Team took his revenge ;-) of course he is by far the best fighter in this speedrun when it comes to cybered reflexes ... i also find it curious why you released Stark to re-hire him and how you managed to get a zero crime file on Lone Star to enter by passport the Salish Sides (sorry for wrong spelling the elvish tribe land) thats neat - i always need to use Sharky to smuggle me in which is expensive.

Also trying to figure this out. He just unlocked her part of the story and then went to Hollywood Correction talked to the guard then went back out and she was in the Jump House? Weird glitch.

It's done to earn the extra karma points needed to upgrade Joshua's reputation to 4, which is a hard requirement to get into Club Penumbra. Note: icing more than 2 civilians will get you hit with a warrant which will prevent you from buying passports, so it's important not to start this spree too early.

If you retreat while you're inside a node, it takes you back to the previous node. But the game thinks you're still *inside*, so it puts you inside the previous node (CPU, in this case) even if the ice hasn't been broken. Then you can crash the CPU or whatever and move on. Hope that makes sense.

@@TheOldKingJor Crashing a CPU will unlock all doors in a building. However, due to a bug, this happens globally so it unlocks every single door in the game. ;)

For Icarus Descending (rep >= 6), you are able to bypass the rep requirement IF you've talked to Boris at the greenhouse about Michael. This is why we do the greenhouse so early. It opens up a lot of the route. The only other rep requirement that matters is Club Penumbra (rep >= 4) which comes much later in the route, of course, after we're able to earn 18 karma. Technically there's a high rep requirement for Matchstick (rep >= 6), but all that does is bypass the cover charge of 150Y, so it's not much of a barrier.

@@TascoDLX thanks meng; didn't know if this vid still had any action so thanks :) i honestly thought it was some bug with Invis until I fired up the game and tried it and realized it wasn't :P guess that's just for smooth non-aggro sailing for speed purposes -- thanks for answer again! great run....WR? should go for it if not
Any idea why the Map in Renraku isn't there? I playing a longay and have done all the necessary requirements for it to be there.

29:15 Hardest fight in the game. Although Freya can pretty much 1-shot them with an AoE.
Best game of all time. Try playing without cheats makes for a long game ❤🎉
the snes game was so much better. I could never get into this.
