Admitting mistakes and then not repeating them is a sign of Leadership. Hiding your mistakes is a sign of weakness.

Wow, 44 years! Thats so incredible. I completed 14 years and got out to finish in the reserves, but it takes someone well committed to do that much time. I love the service, but it wasn't something I could do for such a long career. Thank you for your service GENERAL!

It's unfortunate that so few get to serve that long. Enlisted are let go at 20 years... and officers need to get past Lt Col, or even Colonel, to be able to continue serving. It's particularly difficult for the enlisted, as they are often 38 years old when they are suddenly dumped back into the real world. I understand the rationale for the true ground warfighter being young... but it's becoming more common that these roles are technical... and don't require a young physique. I suppose the GS system fills that post-enlistment role... but oft for the technical roles - not the grunt work. Regardless, Gen. Milley is a class act. He really understands what he's meant to uphold. And, yes, he's well read... not necessarily "woke". He just wants the best for his men and women.

And yet, Milley is a Traitor. Milley is also constrained by the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), which REQUIRES that if there is a question of the legality of an order, that Milley SPEAK UP about it "then and there" and make his objections known. This is for the obvious goal of clearing up miscommunications about orders. Milley DELIBERATELY told no one, objected to no one, defied orders, violated his Oath, broke the Chain of Command, contacted Chinese "Foreign Dignitaries" and communicated sensitive military information. So, yeah, Treason. TWO of the THREE types of Treason, to be specific. Look up the definition of the 3 types of Treason. Milley also violated UCMJ Article 88, and Article 194, and that too is easy to verify on the net.

@@EddieMulchy The TWO constitutional definitions of treason are as follows: (1) Levying war against the US or (2) adhering to enemies, by means of aid or comfort. Part of the job of the Joint Chiefs of Staff is to avoid unwanted conflict escalation. General Milley on that call with the Chinese was meant to reassure them that the US, and Trump specifically, was not going to take brash military action. The reason he had to reassure them? The capitol storming on Jan. 6th. So between reassuring an "enemy" that we're not about to lose total control of the US and a "leader" who led a militia to storm the capitol in an attempt to overturn a fair election, you tell me who is more treasonous.

I trust this man completely also
I have great respect for this man. My father was decorated career Air Force who served two terms in Vietnam with the Jolly Green Giants. My father said that he was apolitical and served who was Commander in Chief no matter their politics. General Milley was right. Be informed. A broad education is important.

Thank you General Miley for your long and honorable service to the United States of America and its Veterans, military men, women and their families.
Great, honorable general of our time much respect from me and may his retirement be full of enjoyment and happiness.

Really impressed with General Milley. Thank God there are decent people like him running the military.
Glad he's loyal to the US Constitution and the American people. As a military veteran, when Trump said that he wanted the military generals and admirals to be loyal to him like Hitler, that's crossing the line. Hitler killed his own people if they're not loyal to him. Thank you, Gen. Milley and all the military personnels! We're forever loyal to the US Constitution and the American people.

Thank you General Milley for protecting our country and our democracy from all those who would destroy us. Thank you for advocating for broad knowledge, and the value of knowing more than just your current rating on social media.Thank you for demonstrating to your troops, and the rest of us, what strength of character, a moral compass, and the willingness to use both look like.
Gen. Miley, thank you for your service. Your professionalism is a great example of what every military member should aspire to be.
Thank You General Milley for your service, your loyalty to country over a single man, and being a real man and owning a mistake publicly. I think, from what we as citizens know and has been made public, that you made FAR more correct choices and decisions during your time under the tumultuous former Administration that saved us from endless horrors that our former President would have inflicted upon the world and the American People. You are the definition of a Hero in my book.
So wonderfully articulate and honest. What a change from Politicians from both sides.
Thank you for your service Gen. Mark Milley.
Every honest and honorable US Service member has made an honest mistake and when owned up to has maintained their honor. General Milley has maintained his honor and my respect as a career soldier.
I think that General Miley has the best motives and is a person of integrity. RS. Canada
Enjoyed hearing gen. Milley's take on his own actions while in the military. Also, not only his - but most utterances by most military (no matter if it's the army, Navy or the Air Force) people in US - are to the point, precise, without mumbo-jumbo and with loads of respect and discipline - both to themselves, the person they talk to, and the subject-matter they talk about. I wonder why that is. That in stark contrast to almost all politicians who "get their say" on the media - of course, the latter (politicians) getting their say all the time - while the former - people from the military - almost never. Again - I wonder why. One more thing - if the word "woke" can be translated to "baseless idiocy" - I don't know, but seems like it - then gen. Milley just said that "what I previously said about US military being filled with **baseless idiocy** is not true - US military is not filled with "baseless idiocy" ". Fair enough. Thanks to the reportor for the interview, greetings from Latvia.

Woke is a meaningless word used by MAGA cult members to insult anyone who isn't like them and who doesn't agree with them. It's weaponised garbage and it's Fascist.
Back in the day, when I was in the Air Force and was promoted to sergeant, I was put through NCO leadership school. And they taught us that the most important thing a leader has to absolutely have …is integrity. No matter what the job is. Military or civilian. If your people don’t trust you then you won’t make a lot of progress.
Much respect

The officer Corp is completely illiterate... On taking your commission as an officer you swear an oath to follow the orders of those appointed over you.... As an officer if you refuse to follow the orders of the President your duty is to resign.... Officers and enlisted Soldiers are not the same thing the fact that this piece of shit wants to pretend that General officers don't get involved in politics is completely insane.... General officer negotiate and sign treaties they are at a level in which they are Military/civil authorities....Mostly they should only involve themselves internationally true but in all reality every General is a Senate confirmed Presidential picked and appointed position and when they do not wish to follow the Presidents orders... The only option given to the Officer Corp is to resign....

Your grandpa wasn't a general and his oath of office didn't involve falling the orders of the President... Literally the Officer Corp of the military exists to represent the interests of the President... It's not a civilian post where he gets to choose not to follow the President orders.... Resign or obey is what he and the man before him would tell all junior officers...
