Gen Elly Tumwine: We are not going anywhere. There's no way a revolutionary will just STOP like that

Uganda is now in a very better place to retire to than ever before. Those who are coming behind us have a challenge

How a good speech. "Every day we retire home" I have liked that statement. Some people think that retirement is abandonment. Others criticizes retiring the Generals as an error by the president. It's a blessing to retire when people still need your service coz you remain a special advise to your successors in office. God bless you Gen Elly and your colleagues.

Thx for the dedicated service Gen. E. Tumwine, Gen. Ssejusa, Gen. Katirima, etc we wish u happy retirement life. Actually I've heard u say u're retired but not tired 😂 Mzee is getting rid of the old guard which could prove to be obstacles to the son's take over and keep the son's loyal peers in service. What u've failed to do is ensure a transition from military to Civilian rule which was the core agenda of the bush war struggle.

Tumwine and your bushy cohorts, who begged you to go to the bushes of luwero in the name of a revolution. What did you fight for? Has the situation changed now? You called it a protracted peoples war, meaning wanaichi had a stake in it. Why are you now claiming total ownership and entitlement?..... does it make Uganda your property because you fought? We're sick and tired of your selfish rhetoric.

Give credit where it’s due. These men and women never folded their arms when the situation required them. The dire situation called them to the jungles. It’s a miracle they survived those harsh days. It was never rosy for even the wanainchi that braved the brutal regime. Their compatriots of today are quite a laughable generation. They believe in getting rich quick without putting in the necessary work. Cry my beloved country.
