Gotta love Walter and the news Team’s clear and understandable explanations of all of the flight and orbital mechanics, spacecraft design, as well as the in-studio explanations of the spacecraft recovery and contingency plans directly from the Navy and Air Force Officer representatives. Not a detail missed, or unnecessary.

I listen to these audio tapes(especially the ones from the Apollo 11 mission) while studying and while sleeping. Your work is extraordinary. Not only we get to listen to actual mission audio, but we also get to see rare footage and photos.Thank you

As a 13-yo, following along with his Monogram model, taking the sections off in order--this was gosh darn exciting stuff. And now many years later, it still is. Thanks again for the complete two-hour coverage. The animated graphics were pretty good (for 1966). Walter didn't mesh well with the other network feed guys ("I think we've lost Don Blair," he said as he turned down the volume). But the camera work was fantastic. Plus bonus footage of the network feed @~3:35PM EDT for the ceremony. Just missing the network wrap. Cool. Thanks again.

While by today's standards, the simulation of the re-entry is primitive, the animation of the service module separation, the retrorocket firing, the separation if the retro module, and the command module's re-entry was very impressive by 1966 standards.

Just think, after all of these years, USA has finally returned to using capsule spacecraft that land in the water as the primary means of US-launched human spaceflight transportation.

Interesting; compare this Gemini coverage with today's NASA coverage of the launch of Crew-1 to the Space Station. They're sharp on their facts and figures, but all of the "girly chat" is annoying! Give me Walter Cronkite or Frank McGee any time!
