Gem Tree Tutorial
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Designer Linda Jones, demonstrates how to create a Gem Tree Sculpture using gemstone chip beads and a gem stone base from Chalmers Gems.
Many apologies for the sound quality of this video, filmed in the garden with aeroplane, traffic and wind (in the trees) noises, plus a small appearance from Linda's dog, Tess! However, we sincerely hope that the tutorial will inspire you to have fun at having a go at creating your own special wire tree!

Those are lovely! Using the beads might be easier than using the chips with glue. Have to try both out 😊

Thank you!
it´s so beautiful. How long are the wires for the little tree. I just started and I want to test on a little tree

You could try 10” to 15”. It’s difficult to gauge, because it will depend on how long you want to make the roots - which is dependent on how big the base stone you’re going to set it on. Also, how gnarly and twisty you want your tree to look? (As the more wire you twist, the more is used up). Maybe start with about 10” for a small tree. So sorry, I can’t be more specific, but there are so many factors at play. 😃
Thanks for the tutorial very helpful Where did you get these rocks?

Hi Rashmi! It's difficult to answer your questions, as the length of the wires is dependant on how high and big you wish to make the tree, plus if you're wiring around a rock or base, you will have to allow extra for that. In my video, I cut 40 x 12" lengths of 0.4mm gauge silver plated copper wire. If I were you, I would have a practice on a small version first. Best wishes! :-)

I'm so sorry about that! When I made that particular tutorial, I was just learning how to film from my tripod and phone camera ... and I'm still learning! But now I have a tripod clamped above, which is closer and better. Apologies!
Where did you find those pierced stones? You broke some necklaces?
