That would more than likely be his awakening. But the Pop Pop fruit used by Gladius works like that. In a way, Pop and Bomb are opposites in terms of how they work. Mr. 5 can turn any part of his body into a bomb while Gladius can explode anything he touches as long as it's not alive.

Gem does have the advantage in that his explosions are instant vs Gladius's gradual. That difference alone can win a battle, but being able to affect the surrounding environment as well is a worthy trade off for the Pop-Pop.

@@furionmax7824Gladiolus ruptures. But since mr 5 doesn’t take any damage when he explodes then maybe that means if his awakening affects other things then they won’t be affected by explosion either. And that along even if you don’t make them explode would be powerful. Imagine if he made the ship he sails on bomb proof so no canons could harm it.

This man NEEDS a buff. There are so many creative uses for his ability

Just like Mr.3 said, the fruit is good, but the user kinda sucks

Pretty underrated devil fruit. It’s decently powerful for its simple premise. Makes you expulsion proof Making any part of your body explode even boogers or spit. Being able to breathe into gun chambers and combust his breath at long distance. There was also a scene where he made an explosion at the souls of his feet as he ran forward to give himself a speed boost. (though since he’s explosion proof then it doesn’t make much sense for that explosion to help propel him unless he can kind of turn off his explosion proof-ness at will?) The idea of being explosion proof is interesting though because like does that protect him from heat or energy? It’s like whitebeard how he has vibration immunity because he creates vibrations but aren’t all physical attacks vibration so shouldn’t he be immune to pretty much any physical attack? I guess it’s a world of magic though so it doesn’t really matter. There’s probably like levels to it.

I think it's more of a case of devil fruit users just generally not being harmed by the basics of their own powers. Like, Mr. 5 can probably tank explosions better than normal because of his devil fruit, but unless he does his DF power's equivalent of forcing his muscles past his body's natural limiters, his own explosions probably don't damage him. Knock him around with recoil, sure (hence the running scene), but since this is One Piece he can just train his body and overcome that drawback.

This fruit is actually pretty OP when you think of it. Imagine mr 5 being able to use armament haki combines with this…..

Mr. 5's devil fruit is similar to the DF of Gladius but different in usage. Mr. 5 can blow anything that he strike while Gladius needs to charge anything he wants to blow by touching it.

Gladius doesn’t turn things into explosions, they rupture aka break apart violently. Gladius devil fruit also doesn’t work on living things except himself

I hope this ability can be passed down to usopp

He can't turn "anything" into explosives; only himself/his body. Turning anything into explosives would be the Awakening Skill

Mr 5 is weak but that breath breeze bomb still look cool

I don't get people saying this is a "strong fruit, weak user" case. Mr 5 is a great user of this fruit, honestly. The fruit would almost exclusively be for close combat, but he weaponized his own breath and nose boogers to become a sharpshooter who uses projectiles as big as ants but as destructive as RPGs
