OMG- what a FANTASTIC idea!!!! I love the look of having a 'face' in my art... yet rarely do I want one that's very defined. Unfortunately, as someone who does draw, I have a very difficult time making them truly abstract. This is SUCH a great idea; thank you!!!

Hi Aimee, I'm just about to start this fun project with the permanent India Ink on the Gelli plate. Does the perm. ink come off of the plate, or is it there for life??

It did for me. I would say there is light staining, but the plate resisted the ink well.

Sorry, I know this response is very old, but just saw it. I live in the USA and you can find these Gelli plates at Hobby Lobby, Michael's and maybe JoAnn's. Or look on line. Much easier to find then 5 years ago when I first started out!

I tried but was unsuccessful. My ink beaded up on jelly plate

Oh no! I had one other person that is happened to. I suggest to wipe down your plate with alcohol there may be oil residue on it that is causing the ink to bead up. If that doesn’t help try using watered down acrylic paint instead of ink. Also don’t give up on the prints you were able to make. Try adding coffee marks or layering more techniques on top. Some of the papers I love the most are what I call happy accidents! Thanks for watching!! I’m so happy you are here.
