I'm just starting to use the structure gel, I apply one thin coat onto foundation coat and then i was applying gel polish. Is it neccessary to buff the stucture layer and if so do I need to cleanse nail before doing polish? Thanks Tonja , I enjoy your videos your fellow Ontarian

Does this gel structure make your nail hard because I’m looking for a gel that makes the nail hard the reason is because I have my long nails or my own and they are very thin & im looking for something to put over so they can be thick.

Hi! Informative video ;) I have a questions about prep-I have the ProBond but not the pH Bond. Can a 70% alcohol wipe do the job of pH Bond? Also, someone “officially trained” by Gelish overseas told me that ProBond was not appropriate with Structure, only pH Bond; do you know anything about how Structure reacts with or holds onto these 2 bonders?

I wouldn’t recommend using regular polish with a gel topcoat unless the polish is 100% dry. Which is about 24 hours.

Hey there! I have a question related to this product. I bought the clear version of the Gelish brush on structure gel... I've done everything in this tutorial except the Gelish primer because I dont have that. Does it really make a big difference to use it?? I'm getting frustrated because I'm getting lifting especially at the free edge of my fingernail...do u have any suggestions for me? Thanks!

  • @TonjaWatts

Hmmm. I generally try to used the prep products that are part of the system, the pro bond is kind of like double sided tape and adds additional adhesion. But I also feel like its a marketing scam haha. first try removing the oils from the nail with rubbing alcohol and maybe try even thinner coats or maybe even one coat of the structure gel before spending the extra money. I have found that the more flexible the natural nail, the thinner the product, allows it to flex with the nail without lifting. and dont forget cuticle oil!! If you're still having an issue than I would try the pro bond. Everyone's nails are different, I dont NEED the probond but my mum and sister do. I hope this helped! thanks for watching!!!

The light of the lamp also is importante, I bought the clear one and, and I’m trying to put little by little, i used to use a 6 led lamp and is a scam it takes a lot of time, now I use a 40w led lamp and it’s super different, I also use ph and primer but in another brand

Primer, like Gelish ProBond, may be unnecessary for some nails, like mine. It will make removal more difficult, but if you’re getting lifting, ProBond may be worth it. Prep products, like “pH Bond” dehydrate and remove oils from the nail, and are usually a mix of alcohol and acetone. If your prep includes using alcohol to clean the nail, you may not see much benefit from products like pH Bond, but following manufacturers’ directions is always the safer way.
