Can you actually use clear gesso to pull the print without damaging the gelplate? It feels a little gritty or sandy… Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

@@NitsaCreativeStudio - Yes, you print your photo or image onto the decal waterslide paper then soak in water for a short time and the "decal" of your image slides off. Everything that was white in your image is now clear and the background of whatever you adhere it to shows through! So it's great for mixed media collage. I just bought some and haven't tried it yet but it's a unique transfer method I thought you might want to check out! Note: They have it for laser printers AND for ink jet printers so you have to make sure you get the right one!

Would you do a video to transfer on fabric? I would love to use this in my art quilts…..

Yes, I'm definitely planning on it. But it will require some preparation and research for me to use the right materials (for example, which fabric paints work best)

were the pictures you used from actual photographs, are were they like from a magazine. I am confused about that. I love love loved this video. I am book marking it. I am waiting on my supplies to get here so I can start. They will be arriving over the next few days. I can't wait to try it.

I’ve watched several of your videos and have your book. I bought a gel plate and I have tried many tunes with no success. My printer says it is inkjet, but the images never stick to the gel plate. I’ve used acrylic paint and the matte medium, but no results. What might I be doing wrong?

Yes, this process doesn't work with inkjet only with laser or toner based photocopies

Is this one of your DIY gell plates?

Does it always have to be black and white? Can you pull from a color picture?

You can use color laser photocopy the only issue is that it's hard to get good contrast from a color print, but otherwise it defenitely works.

can i use inkjet printer for gelli plate?

unfortunately inkjet printers don't work for this process.

A brief question: do you need any special paper to print laser jet photos? I plan on using regular copy paper. Will that work? Thanks,?Avram

Inkjet doesn't work for this process but works with many other image transfer projects 👍 (if you're interested check out my recent videos)
