Every year I attempt to grow a garden. 2024 has been my best effort yet. Years and years of playing, planning, and missing the mark have led me here. To my best garden ever!
We started by rototilling the yard. Our old garden from last year was small. You can see the herbs that came back in the center. After the rototilling we added a few yards of compost across the topsoil. The whole area was covered with weed blocker fabric.
I am not the most diligent weed control gardener. The fabric helped keep it under control. The garden plants are now considerably larger than any weed that sprouts!
This years garden is a collection of plants from Home Depot, Lowes, Giant Eagle, Rural King, and the seed racks. Most of what we planted was already started and this made things easier. The plantings are a little to close in some areas, but we learn as we go! Tomorrow I have to move a fence so the pumpkins stop bullying the broccoli.
Daily watering and only using organic products I feel I have thriving, safe, pest free garden. Thanks for reading and as always we buy houses, and I could use a kidney!
