Not a gamer, but I'm convinced, my HP Envy is history, and the GEEKOM A8 is my next computer.

My mind knew you were probably going to stop at 4 displays, but my heart wanted a clown car situation.

I'm not a gamer, so the 780M isn't all that important for me. Transcoding is about as complex as my activity ever gets. Oin this video, the section about using multiple monitors was excellent and... seductive. I run both Windows and Linux (Neon). Neon is on an internal HD so it is painfully slow. I want a nuc with an Elite X processor and two nvme slots (for dual-boot). Now that we have all these Elite X laptops, the nucs can't be far behind.

maybe you will one day make a video about how you use all the computers you are testing - not only testing: home lab, home automation, development so far it is only a channel that ... advertises the hardware and software

I don’t use home automation, development or home lab. I do play games, watch videos, 3d print and use computers for a whole range of other things.

I’ve cancelled Xbox and have been using this through my TV as mentioned in the video. For me Steam deck is just too small for me to enjoy the games I play most. Great device for travel, I just wouldn’t use it at home and don’t travel much. I also don’t play a wide enough variety of games to make console subscriptions worthwhile for me. It is also a powerful PC for anything else you choose to use it for

I get what you were saying in your video. But still you’re paying more for this than a console but getting less than console quality graphics and resolution when hooking it up to a large monitor/tv. I agree with your argument where you can get cheaper games due to using the different pc stores, this is what I am doing with my steam deck. But overall if you are trying to push this device over a console the £700 starting price in my opinion just isn’t good value for saving in games from other stores and them running at less resolution and FPS etc. I’d even suggest the Xbox series S is better value if you needed a small form factor to meet your needs. However it’s nice to see tiny PCs brining more powerful in their form factors just need them to get better and have prices coming down potentially sooner than later with ARM chips becoming more common in PCs with all the new gen chips coming out this year. Looking forward to see what devices you put through the pace with Snapdragon X and Intels lake range arm chips with Windows.

Really great this GEEKOM A8 but it's 2x too expensive... How to get Steam Link working on RPi5 ??

Curious about how the heat build up is. I've heard performance suffers because it becomes heat soaked and starts throttling.

I have played Fortnite for a few hours and not been aware of slowdowns. I guess in a hot climate maxed out it could. The fan is often not on or running slow for me

On black Friday an Xbox Series X was going for half of this.

Not sure if you watched the whole video? This mini PC is much smaller and requires no ongoing subscription plus with PC’s you get free premium games from various different stores. The Xbox series X will play 4K games much better than this mini PC. You will however be locked into the Xbox system and it won’t do thousands of things a PC will. I was sharing my experience and thoughts in the video if you like paying a subscription and play many games on Xbox then the top tier subscription is likely a good fit for you.

Both I wouldnt recommend atm. The Xbox series X future is uncertain and the miniPCs are underpowered for the price. Sorry if I didn't watch the whole thing because I've seen so many of them by now with all the same issue : price. It seems every content creator gets to try them for free and many don't want to be to critical because they need the company's to send them more.

Sorry, but my Game Pass Ultimate subscription is still worth every penny. I love all three of my gaming PCs, but there's still so much value in GPU.

I don’t think it’s that common. If I was more into the latest PC games I think I would just buy a gaming PC. I just watched eta’s video. It is a cool option if you want an egpu

The M1 is 4 years old. If you want a MacMini wait until the end of the year when Apple should release M4 Macs. Of course you can expect that an M4 MacMini will cost twice as much as this mini PC.

can mint or ubuntu run on that?

That is more than my ryzen 5 5500, 16 GB DDR4, samsung eve 970 and MSI 3060. Yeah, cool, its small. That is about it.

For that money you can buy a decent 8700G system with 32Gb DDR5 and 1 Tb SSD if you still have lying a case and power supply somewhere. With microatx casing and decent power supply only a bit more than 750 euro.
