No Dom recieved the Embry Star for taking down an enemy chimera helicopter with his lancer from a boat and then pulling gears out of the water and driving the boat into a King Raven with Colonel Hoffman aboard. Carlos Santiago recieved the Embry star for giving his life to hold a bridge while the rest of C company was extracted along wth Bernie and Marcus Fenix. And just for the record Marcus Fenix recieved his Embry Star for jumping into an enemy vehicle and using the cannon to take out the UIR antiaircraft vehicles and a helicopter that was shooting at Dom And Colonel Hoffman over the ocean. Anya Stroud recieved her mom's Embry Star which was earned when Helena Stroud jumped on to an enemy tank and dropped 3 grenades inside when she went to jump off the tank her armor webbing got caught on the tank and she died while Anya was in the command center listening. Hoffman also recieved an Embry star during this mission. And if you dont know already the battle of Aspho fields was to take the hammer of dawn from the UIR so the COG could deploy it first and win the war. Marcus buried his in Carlos's grave. Carlos's medal was given to his parents who died along with Dom's kids. Dom traded his for legal help trying to get Marcus out of the slab. Hoffman gave his to Bai Tak's widow (because paisang troops were not eligible for the medal) and Anya kept hers and put it away so no one could look at it. If you want to know more lore the books are great reads and give you a better picture of the Gears universe.

I know, right? It's a testament to the writing. No matter if a character had a small role, their death was usually memorable. It's all the more tragic seeing the young ones like Ben go.

It’s nothing like gears 4.... strangely, I prefer gears 4 campaign. Gears 5 was very easy and didn’t have many epic battles. It definitely had the least amount of action. And the driving around the desert was just pointless and not needed in my opinion. I don’t want Gears to be open world.

Leo Enduro the berserker was way too easy. Just shoot some ice. And the final boss fight... I didn’t even know it was the final boss fight. It didn’t feel like one. I expected more. In gears 4 there were several big battles where you had to defend a spot, regroup and get attacked again. Big bad enemies coming at you over and over. And it was rough. There didn’t feel like much of this in gears 5. I barely died on my first play through. The bit where you had to lay the beacon was like that, and that was great, but that was about it. I don’t remember any other part of the game that felt like that. Gears 5 really didn’t have many big battles at all.

The fact that this stuff is in the game is crazy. Such a nostalgia trip and makes ya sad that so many awesome characters lost their lives.

I also heard an easter egg in escape mode, where Mac starts crooning the Gears of War 2 theme in the shower thing

"Dom! No!" Still gives me chills.

The Easter egg of all of the dead people In that died throughout the gears series reminds me of the return of the Jedi with how they showed up after the dialogue which is amazing.

I'm probably stating the obvious here, but still. Raam's job was to kill the leader of every squad he came across. He killed Minh. I know was the leader of the squad Marcus was in, but I beg to argue that Raam killing Marcus, Dom, or Cole would've worked out much better for the Locust.

Kim was a follower. By the book. RAAM made a mistake in killing him instead of Marcus, and for it, he payed, the Locust paid, and eventually, even the queen.

I was really upset when you referred to Dominic as Marcus' "buddy." They were like brothers. Otherwise good video "buddy!"

This was missing my favorite one, which was one of the posters in the theater was a replica of Hamilton, An American Musical. This was called "Embry: A Cog Musical" and even had the character as the top-most point in the star, just like the Hamilton poster.

this is why i love the gears of war franchise. The amount of dedication that the new developers that are keeping the timeline is great. GOOD JOB THE COALITION

You know I had a feeling that there would be something for Ben and Minh but I never found those collectibles so I'm glad I was right. Somehow I didn't expect one for Anthony.

Interesting note but that Embry Star was given to Dom for events that occured during the very first Gears of War Novel, Aspho Fields. Its cool that they've kept the expanded lore so solid... Also, that memorial easter egg happens just before you add one more name to that wall...and there's a space in between the Adam Fenix and Kim in the front row.

Small mistake with the memorial wall, you dont need to collect all 90 collectables you just need to get the collectables of characters from the previous games

Isn't the Letter collectible you find by the Centaur Tank in Act 2 a Easter Egg reference to the Gears novels as Cole Train would write letters to his Dead parents.

What I've been looking for

There is a reference to Chaps gas station in the beginning of the game. You see the sign "Chap's" in some rubble.

I still get chills when I hear Tai say everything happens for a reason

I haven't picked this one up yet, but it's definitely on my list - if anyone has anything bad to say of this game Screw You with a fish on a stick!! These Easter Eggs are some of the best I've seen in any video game this year - more pls.

Get game pass it’s way cheaper and you get like 200 other games

One I saw was in the multiplayer level museum. The name Serrano is found on posters on some of the walls, the name “Serrano” Victor Serrano, is from a game called bulletstorm, made by epic games.

There is a reference to Halvo Bay from Gears of War: Judgement in a converstion on the skiff a few times in the desert area and if you pick up the Markza in front of Paduk, he mentions that you have great taste in weapons as he says in the Beginning of Gears Judgment he says "This isn't a gun! It's a comrade." when you first see the Markza on the Campaign.

The piano easter egg in act IV also gives you 2 boomshots and there is another piano where marcus plants the. Beacon. Look in the display case in the previous room after playing the piano and playing the other piano gives you 2 exposive ammo pickups in a display case

I don't know how to explain it but in Baird's labs(after jd launches the rocket) on his desk there a collectable/picture that shows young baird,cole,sofia,patuk reference to gow judgment

ANOTHER Easter egg is the Posters for the musical that’s playing. The guy standing with one hand in the air is a reference to the poster for Hamilton the musical. The stage even spins during the mini-boss fight. Like the confrontation scenes in Hamilton the Musical on Broadway.

There is a voice line reference in multiplayer, when you get a kill with an incendiary grenade as Marcus, he may shout 'who wants toast?' Which is an obvious nod to the toaster easter egg in GoW2

aww i wish i had tomato grenades in gears 4 when I was playing! probably was only specific to that chapter anyways.

Any time there was a cooking appliance in an area I'd start punching it expecting it to break and have food in it like the toaster from Gears 2.

Also in that part he mentioned when your havin to stealth kill all the deebees, u come across a table with alot balloons if you start shooting them 1 of them will sound off a lil birthday horn surprise

There’s a great Easter egg in act I chapter 4. Right before you go in a room where a bunch of Rejects chase you around (when you enter the room JD says, “What the hell is this?”), there are balloons on the right. Shoot them and one will make a funny sound. I discovered this with my friend

2 things 1: you don't have to collect every Easter egg but there 8s one devoted to each character that shoes up at the memorial and you do have to collect all of those. 2: while maybe not necessarily an Easter egg, I thought I'd mention the jazzy rendition of the main theme when you fight a stump at the theatre on, I think it's act 1?

When I heard "Private Ben Carmine, Reporting for duty sir." jeez I got mixed with sadness and joy I almost teared up.

@@brandonscott5512 They were all rookies but yeah Ben is the most lovable because of how young and bold he was, he tried his hardest to become what Clay is now but knowing that all that pain from his death is not just inflicted towards Clay but to us also and now that Lizzie is gone, a Carmine we knew her shorter than Anthony, that had a large impact towards Carmine fans and to think how Clayton has been through not just his brothers but now his niece. I can feel how Clay is. I play him every gears game knowing that every Grub, Lambent or Swarm I kill it's towards his vengeance for his Family.

Forget everyone else the carmine bros i cried my ass off finding Anthony and Benjamin carmine god bless there souls rest in peace boys
