Double declutching is a technique used, in India, by drivers of heavy vehicles like Ashok Leyland, etc. This is used to synchronise the speed of the gears while shifting, mainly while downshift to accelerate the vehicle. Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) or Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) is a power transmission arrangement where in which 2 clutches (diaphragm and spring) are attached to 2 co-axial shafts mounted with odd and even gears.
