Flashlights, like most things, have vastly improved. I hunted coon as a kid carrying one with the big 6 volt lantern battery that weighed a couple of pounds! You will be amazed at the amount of light that Olight puts out.

Thanks a bunch, been checking the last couple days to see it. So interesting to see what other people figure is important on the trail. Have carried a lot of the same stuff myself. I'm like you when it comes to having lighters and knives.. if you ever been cold and need of Fire you will start carrying several different ways to start a fire.. and if you ever have a horse get tangled up you want a knife to grab real quick To Cutting him free and I'm sure it's the same way when your dogs get tangled . I don't know how anybody don't carry a pocket knife I reaching and using my pocket knife at least 15-20 times a day for numerous things👍👍👍

Awesome , you pack your truck about like I do mine. Always ready for what comes , most of the time. I was down at Galveston fishing a pier with a buddy that lives there. A cold front came through and it got cold. I just went and got my carharts out of the truck. and everyone on the pier was asking where I got them ! LOL ! It pays to be ready ! I've often wanted to be able to do 3-5 days hunting deer or elk with just one pack horse and a riding horse. You've got me thinking hard about my setup...It's the same gear as one overnight , just more feed and food.

Here's a tip for you. Portawipes. Look em up. A little tube holds about ten. Take one out, add a little water and it expands to an ample moisty wipe. Like that TP commercial says, "I know I'm clean cause my hiney's clean". I take them hunting and fishing. Very light, takes little room, and so convenient. I stash those like you stash knives.

Bug out gear is great to have but when SHTF, no one will escape God's 7 yr tribulation judgement years that is about to start at the end of September, after the Christians who have done God's will in their life are gone, even if you do have a horse, you will not escape what's coming, God is wrapping up his 7,000 yr plan for earth, we have reached the end of the church age, his judgements are coming so don't think you are going to run from him, he knew you before you were born, stand where you are and give Jesus the glory he deserves for dying for you, he just wants you to worship him for what he did for you on the cross, and in return he will fill you with his holy spirit and you will be new born again, don't buy gear thinking you will escape, that's fulleshnes

A lot of good info, I should carry some of that but I usually just have my knife, lighter and some water. For food I throw a bunch of baby clams or oysters in. I don’t do much packing but I have the gear from it…… maybe I’ll make me a first time pulling a pack mule video so you can hack on me a bit about how I tie it and pack it! 😂😂😂

I own several Olights. I was going to suggest you try one. The Baton 3 is one of my favorites. Rechargeable and comes with a charging case if you upgrade. It is not very large and light enough to clip to a ball cap bill and makes an excellent headlamp. Fits easily in a pocket and being able to use it hand free makes it versatile.

Be careful buying from Amazon. Someone used my debit card I had on file without my permission or knowledge to the tune of around $1,000. Part of this happened in January of this year. Still don't have my money. AMAZON says they have issued me a credit, my bank says they don't have my money. What am I supposed to do? I love buying from them. If Amazon don't have it, you don't need it. My husband and myself are really old- 80 and 85. We live a long way from everything. Maybe this could help someone.
