Let the countdown begin!!! I'll be sure to watch at night when I am in Costa Rica back at the hotel. It was great to meet you guys in person. I have no idea of the route of the Arizona Trail but if it is in the vicinity of Mesa and need something or help, my mom will be down there for a little while before coming back up north, I can see if she could help you out. Thank you!!! We've only checked our bag once, and that was after the AT... other than that, we've always driven to the trails.

Ok, putting the pad inside the liner is a cool idea. Diggin the purple thermodrop!

We started doing that on the AT... we didn't need the liners for warmth, so we thought we might as well use them for something and have been doing it ever since. ☺️ I was pretty excited about my new Thermodrop 😂😉 Are you still planning for your AT thru this year?

@@kevinandleah1221 I am - I start at Katahdin 1st week September, take a break to officially finish work / retire, then SoBo the 100 mile in November. Unsure how far I’ll get before I flop to GA to loop North.

HIIIIIIIII GAAAARRRRRYYYYYYY!!!! We've missed you!!! 🥰

It was great to see your gear video. We just got ourselves a GoPro so I've been trying to figure out the best way to file transfer to my phone on trail. We ordered a micro SD reader so it looks like we made the right choice. We're doing passages 8 - 18 of the AZT NOBO starting approximately March 17. It would be great to run into you guys on trail if the miles line up. We are looking forward to getting away from the snow in Canada to hike in some warmer weather.

Oh my goodness! So glad to see this pop up. I am going to SOBO the AZT this year Sept/Oct and I'm looking forward to following you guys giving all the good info and fun. As a side note, last year on the PCT I am certain that I benefitted from your trail maintenance. Happy Trails to you!

I was given a Kula cloth by the woman who owns the company. She toured the lighthouse where I volunteer. She custom-made them with a photo of our lighthouse on it. Wish I had them when my girls were babies!

Thank you so much!!! The bug lotion I ❤️ is Saywer Picaridin Lotion... I love that stuff! Kevin and I both wear Injinji socks under our Sealskinz socks. He also says THANK YOU very much for your comment about the trail clearing... he loves to do his part 😁

Had that same SanDisk 2TB. It got corrupted and could not access anything. Good thing I had backup on my Mac. Learned to be very careful on disconnecting it from source … turning source off totally before disconnecting SanDisk. (SanDisk sent free replacement)

Dang, thanks for the heads up. I was really looking forward to this hard drive. I'll be extra cautious now with it and hopefully we don't lose any information. Did you by chance try and use any recovery software? I had a microsd corrupt on us at the end of the Appalachian Trail in 2022. It had 2 weeks of video on it that I couldn't access. However, once we got home I was able to recover it with software.

No. I was not aware of such. Tried to open it on multiple devises unsuccessfully. I searched on Google and think that corruption is not that uncommon; lawsuit indicated. Local computer store expert didn't recommend it. (Bought a recommended LaCie 2TB instead.) Contacted SanDisk and they said to return it for replacement. @@kevinandleah1221

Being a person who has gone down the ultralight rabbit hole I can't help but wonder what your base weights are? I did the Cascade locks to timberline Lodge section in 2023 with under 6 lbs of gear. I'll be carrying about 13 and a half pounds of gear on the AZT. I hope to be able to do the superior hiking trail with under 7 lbs of gear.

Wow!!! Impressive weights! Our bags are probably between 20- 30 pounds... we've carried pretty much the same gear on the AT and PCT. Definitely not ultralight 😂
