As someone who runs sound. Thank you for seperating your pads and pianos mate. Truly appreciated.
I'm not a keyboard player, but I've been so curious about how you and Aaron run your setups! Thanks for this!
The hammond b3 is a church classic!

I WAS SO STOKED WHEN I SAW THIS VID!!!
Hey! Thank you for taking the time and doing a runs down of your gear! If you can show us how you mix the piano sounds with the Valhalla reverbs. I always wanted to get the Ravencroft 275. Love your piano sounds. I myself use mainstage with the giant or Alicia keys, and the nano control. I have the full Abelton suit but haven’t stop to mess with it. Thank you again. I play keys for IChurch in Hickory NC.
awesome run down, thank you
I knew he used Una Corda 😉 it’s a beautiful sound. Just a quick question LJ, how do you blend those VST in a DAW as one instrument?
so touching for an excellent video

Hi LJ! Thank you for showing us your amazing setup! Please could you tell us which model of in ear monitors you use as a keyboard player? Thank you very much! All the best!
Epic. I would love to see a tutorial on how you do the live vocoding! I.e. There is a king, how you routed the horn and Chris' voice, was it through this key setup or another one?

!!!!! I keep thinking about it!
Awesome that's a sweet setup! I've tried doing something similar by running my Nord through Mainstage first to use plugin effects and shaping tools, but by the time it got to FOH it was super noisy... Have you come across those types of issues? Maybe it's just a low noise floor on the interface's preamps? (I'm sure the MOTUs are pretty clean). Let me know if you have any ideas, thanks!
Please teach me how to play the song give me faith by elevation worship tutorial piano
Need a drum gear run down please
We need a drum gear rundown.
Appreciate your video. Can't you tell me which laptop stand and in ear monitors do you use how is it connected?
Very nice to see. Thanks! You mention a quarter and eight note delay, what do you guys use to sync the tempo?

If I were to guess it would be Ableton Link + midi out everywhere.
LJ, thanks for the rundown of your rig. What version of Ableton are you running? Standard, Suite?
LJ you selling any patches ?
how did you organize the main Piano category with the different types of pianos from different VSTs below it?
@alexclusivity.

You need to run an instrument rack containing all the sounds you'll want to incorporate and automate the selections with chain selector, a bit tedious, but for sure doable
When you said switch over incase something happens on the laptop. There is a switch on the nord for deciding which to output to send sound through? Or the sound engineer just keeps the fader up but muted as a backup?
Are you controlling the Nord from Ableton? Besides just hearing or not hearing the input. Like program changes or separate outputs from the nord for grand and upright.
How do you split keys and pads
How does he saved the sounds on a external ssd? For most this might be super basic, still can anybody help with this?
anyone know how he got nord sounds as plugins inside ableton?
Love this btw! I'm glad I see similarities in our setups to let me know I'm doing something right. I do have a question though that I've been wondering for along time now. Why if your Motu 8A has balanced outputs, do you use a DI such as the Radial Pro D8? I understand if you're trying to switch from 1/4 " TRS to XLR to send to FOH, but if so, that's quite the expense just to convert to XLR seeing that it's $800. Just wondering because I've seen similar setups and am puzzled why it's there other than because you're willing to drop almost a lot of money on it.

I just realized that you're running straight from the Nord, but is that the only reason?
@blackbackLP

Had the same question some time ago when i thought about upgrading my gear. I think, even if your interface does have balanced output, there are valid reasons for using an DI box. First of all, an DI gives you isolated outputs. This can be very useful in certain situations. Secondly, it prevents your interface from phantom power and such. In addition to that, it gives you a central location for all your outputs and those plugs on the Pro D8 are a lot more rigid than those on some audio interfaces but this only makes sense if you pre-wire all your gear in an rack. I think they do it because they can. Radials are really good and 8 of them in a rackmounted box is a lot more practical than a couple loose single channel DIs. It also gives you a practical way of rackmounting your DIs and some headroom for future instruments and channels.
Bro, are you Jamaican? I may be wrong, but I hear it coming out every now and then.
So I see that you have the Royal Grand and Amber Upright from the Nord in the instrument racks.. how are you triggering those, are you doing that from the Nord or are you doing any midi triggering to fire those sounds?
Please can you share the click sound you use? I am looking for it so crazy :(

That's a 10 -year-old Stage 2 he is using. Even with stage 3, your options for atmospheric pads or unique piano samples are limited vs the Keyscape library. The last thing to note - they are a big band where each keyboard player has a precise role to fill in the overall sound. My own playing technique and sound selections are vastly different when I worship within a 4-piece and a 8/10-piece band setting.

@@eugeneprystupa5075 I understand greatly, but still believe it's overkill for a small church set up... If midi is primary I would go for a more cost efficient board that sounds great and can be used in a pinch if midi failed but I just can't see the purpose of spending so much on a nord and use midi I'd rather spend the extra from saving on a cheaper board on more vst and sounds
@eugeneprystupa5075

@@musictheorist8151 I see your point! Most churches who want the Nord sound would probably do equally fine with Piano 5 or Electro 6D since very few players that I’ve seen actually use any real time controls/effects/etc. You could get a modx8 or something similar as a controller/piano for less, too. I am sure that these guys bring their own rigs to the mix. My “language” is Nord/korg synths. I can play the Sunday service on any other instrument as a guest musician, but I will bring my own setup if I am on rotation since I know my own tools much-much better.
