    Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I’ve just bought one of these gadgets and I found it really helpful to watch your video showing clearly how to attach it - much clearer than the one released by Ruffwear!

    Thanks Matt! We really do love this. It is the easiest and most useful piece of gear I have for timber. We can arrive almost anywhere and I can hook that thing up to a nearby rocking tree and I don’t have to worry about him running all around and disturbing other people. And it gives him a pretty good range to explore while I’m working on other things. We loved it the first day we got it.

    Could you make a video about camping with your dog? backpacking or car camping, either would be great. I am taking dog with me on a two-week car camping trip. Weather will vary from 40 degrees to 85 degrees. Anything about dog food storage, sleeping mats, etc would be so helpful. Thanks for considering!

    We're still waiting for the snow to melt from our local peaks, but as soon as it does we're planning an overnight trip up there to highlight a few of those items you mentioned. Great feedback!!!

    Hey Craig just found your channel while looking for info on knot a hitch. Informative video, thx. I'm curious as to the breed of timber. My Rottie loves hiking and swimming, unfortunately hates people touching his feet so booties are out

    Hi Mike! He is an Otterhound mix. We had to have him DNA tested as so many people ask about him, and his mullet!

    Thank you, I was hoping to find a system that didn't need me to screw anything into a tree. Is it sturdy though?

  • @thepawdlife5633

    @thepawdlife5633

    Its super sturdy. The stitching is typical high quality and the cordage they use for the actual rope is thick. I think as long as you don't leave it laying around in direct sun or water it will hold up for years! We love ours. It goes on every trip because one of my dogs is a little stubborn and likes to disappear.

    Any idea how large a dog this set up could take? I have a “small” Great Dane that I want to take camping. Weights 48kg so close to 105pounds

  • @thepawdlife5633

    @thepawdlife5633

    3 жыл бұрын

    I think 105 pound dog would be fine. If he went super crazy and was yanking on the thing as hard as he could he might be able to tear apart the webbing that attaches the system to the tree. But I doubt it.

    what is the max weight of dog this is rated for?

  • @thepawdlife5633

    @thepawdlife5633

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi ambur! Ruffwear does not provide a weight maximum but it would be my opinion that a 100 pound dog would be fine on this system. That being said if he’s crazy and running hard against the system it’s possible he could break off the leash attachment. That being said I would tell you that I find this whole system to be very high-quality. There are not any cheap components on it. So if there’s a system that’s gonna work for a big strong dog this would probably be the number one contender.

    Could you use this for 3 20 pound puppies?

  • @thepawdlife5633

    @thepawdlife5633

    I would not. That sounds like it has a chances of tangles. And tangles mean strangles, so not worth doing that. I suggest a crate for puppies. Thx!!!

    If I went out of sight my dog would chew through that lead in a matter of seconds and follow me,

    A solution to a non-existing problem, IMHO. How aboug a tying a rope, attach a swiveling carabiner yourself. 🤔 You can use stronger or weaker parts, depending on the size of the dog. I have no confidence on products that don't say how much force they can handle.
