This guy created more work than he needed to. You can easily remove the switch by just removing the access panel on the right where the lock is by removing the two screws revealing the two screws holding the lock mechanism, remove those two screws and gently pull the switch through the hole, unplug the wire, plug in the new switch, push the new switch into the hole, put the screws back put the cover panel back and put those screws back and your done. Don't need to take off the front to get to this part. Don't follow this guy's advice.

You are 100% correct I just did this and IT WAS WAY FASTER! I’m so glad I read your comment !!! I didn’t want to do it because of how time consuming it looked but the way you said it is true! Super fast repair !

yeah. but if you cannot open the door, impossible to do it electrically because electronic door latch has mechanical error , if you also havent plastic latch down there near the filter t open it manually by pulling. and if youre unable to get the switch from the upper side because there is no space for single arm.. then what😂

It may vary but I think there is enough space to replace it without removing all the panel I just removed the spring holding the door seal and that was it

There is no need to take the front of the washer off to replace the door lock switch. It is designed to come out the front hole so that it is easy to replace, or when you switch the door from one side to the other. That is also the reason there is the exact same a molex connector behind the hinge of the door. It is the same wires that went to the door lock switch on the right. It is literally a 4 minute job to replace that switch.

No need to remove all that. just remove the door lock cover, then the door lock. slide it out, un do the connection clip. reverse and that it.

My original lock died out of nowhere. Referenced codes and ended up replacing it 1st with no luck. Then, I replaced the main control board, and when I powered up, I heard a buzzing noise coming from the lock and it died as well. Opened it up and it was melted. I have a new one and not sure where to go from here. No other error codes aside for the door codes.

@@iwwqytv I replaced the lock and the control board. Not sure if it needed the board, but it wasn't too hard to replace. You have to code the washer once that is replaced because that board is used in many washers. I don't remember how I did that but the info was found on the web.

Just another proof that not everything you see on KZread is the correct way to fix things 😂

If the door is shut and stuck locked, you do need to do these steps.

WHY would you take off the whole front panel???? Just pop off your seal spring and partially open your rubber seal to access the door lock. 10 minute job instead of what stuff you are doing to remove the whole front panel.

On this model you don't even need to pull the boot band. 4 phillips screws.Two for the cover two for the switch.
