Hi mike, I have just purchased one of these. I also enjoyed the tutorial, keep up the good work.

Back in the late 70's early 80's they brought out that twin circuit board an absolute pain in the rear .

That's a cool radio. I'll have to keep it in mind. Never know where you might run across one. Like the features on it.

I wouldn't mind having one of these but i refuse to pay what they go for on Ebay. People think these are gold.

Oh dang this is trouble.First time I’ve seen this radio and I love it. Found one I like more than the Navaho. Also matches the mobile I just bid on. Thanks for the video looks like the GE Super Base is going on the bucket list 73

Enrique Paz looks great nothing special on receive or transmit so save your money.

Thats a cool old radio. Very hard to find in good condition...

I have a Super Base like new still has the stickers on it, i had it for 30 + years talked all over the world and a second one for parts and two GE ssb mobiles I had a cb shop for 30 years but cb is dead in my area so no money in it anymore.. lots of test equipment for sale

hi mike i have a realistic navaho 492 base station every time i power it on the fuse will blow i have a 2amp fuse like themanuel says but the radio will now pow on but the inside sys i amp fuse

I just got a GE Superbase today and unfortunately the only thing that works on it or the lights at the clock. It has no transmit or receive can I ship it to you for repairs

Would you mind if you can increase the channels for this radio? I have an equipment of this, but with the original 40 channels I can not do DX. Thanks for the info.

All the time. One of my most used tools.

then the board should have been encapsulated on the bottom surface to stop this problem and connections for connecting to the electrolytic should be put in place before encapsulation for the purpose of connecting the electrolytic that is going to leak sometime in the future.

Don't think they planned on the capacitors leaking. Also don't forget its a CB radio not a high end electronics component.

I would have thought that the solder resist would have stopped the corrosion of the copper tracks.

It soaks into the PCB and attacks the copper from the underside.

Will the Channel King board work on a SuperBase?

It supports the PLL02A so yes. It usually cost more to install in "other" radios because of the time involved. The electronics part is easy. The mechanical aspect can take a lot of time getting the encoder and display mounted. I have spent 2 hours or more in some radios because I had to make up custom mounting brackets and adapters. As the old saying goes, where there's a will there's a way.

A lot more than 25 years old, more like 35-40+

Very overrated CB.Looks Great but nothing special on the air on transmit or receive.
