I enjoy this stackable GE washer and dryer. My late grandparents on my dad's side had a model in their townhome just like this one, which they first got in late 2007 to early 2008. Before that, though, they had a 1994 Whirlpool Thin Twin washer/dryer combo, which resembles this one. They had to replace the Thin Twin because I think it had something to do with the oil leaking underneath. Of course, my grandparents moved out of that townhome in 2014. I hope your washer works well for many years to come.

These are amazingly well built washers, should last many years problem free. If any repairs should ever be needed, would not be expensive and worth the repair cost.

Reminds me of my 80’s Kenmore portable belt drive washer even though this one is a direct drive. Even have a stacking kit for the matching dryer that goes with my Kenmore portable belt drive washer. I even have a 1963 Whirlpool Imperial Mark XII belt drive set in turquoise I acquired not too long and I do plan on making videos of those machines one day.

The BIG LT they are out there just have to look for them. The Kenmore portables are easier to find since Sears sold more of them than Whirlpool did.

What, a General Electric branded Whirlpool Direct Drive? That is interesting, expecially since GE used to make a belt drive washer that agitated and sounded like a Direct Drive. (Not the Hydrowave one)

I used to have one of these machines at an apartment I used to live at. (This is just my experience with it, so don't be talking trash about it.) It wasn't all that good, it didn't get the clothes all that clean, it went off balance many times even the upper part of the agitator fell off, and the dryers buzzer was so annoying I couldn't stand it. (This was the whirlpool version that I'm talking about with the white agitator.)

Lots of top loading washers will go off balance during the spin cycle... sometimes it depends on how the operator loaded it, and it's not the washers fault.

I have the whirlpool version of this which is the exact same machine mine has never once gone off balance ever it washes unbelievably well. They are known for their effective washing ability since they are direct drives. Perhaps you were doing something wrong or it was damaged that the spring on the bottom was broken there are three springs maybe unable to hold the machine steady.

Hi i have the exact same model as in video. I just bought the house recently, so i realize the top agitator(agitator filter/barrier) is loose, i mean i can take it off easily, it's not secure to the bottom agitator? is that how it suppose to work?
