GE Profile Water Cooler Keeps Freezing. Where to find the thermostat to adjust it.

If your GE Profile water cooler (dispenser) keeps freezing up, you can try adjusting the thermostat. In this video, I’ll show you how to find it and how to adjust it.

The manual pertains to these models:
GXCF25FBS Chiller Model (the exact model shown in this video)
GXCF25HBS Chiller Model
PXCR33KSS Chiller Model
PXCF22RBS Storage Model
(To find your model number look on the side of the unit at the bottom (on the left-hand side). There should be a sticker with the model number, serial number, etc.)

She also shows you how to get the damn plastic piece (called a strainer) out of the reservoir by driving your thumb into it. Keep in mind that this might not come out if your unit is frozen underneath.

The thermostat on my model (GXCF25FBS), had the following part numbers and information:
CS 6448N
WPF3. 4V-113-022
06. P3235A. Q
5 (4) A 250v 50/60 Hz
Foshan Tongbac Co., Ltd
I have not been able to find a link to a replacement thermostat. If you have located one, please leave it in the comments for me.
*If this does not fix the problem and your unit continues to keep freezing (and it appears that the compressor is constantly running--the blue light is on often) one other potential fix (If you can't pinpoint the problem) is to purchase a programmable timer and set it to turn on and off at various intervals so it doesn't freeze. Thanks to: hulksmashtrolls on the ifixit forums for this great solution. His suggestion for setting the timer is:
Set up six events on the timer (all days) . Each event should be "on" for one and a half hours and "off" for two and a half hours. For example here's how I have it set:
Event. On. Off
1. 5am. 6:30am
2. 9am. 10:30am
3. 1pm 2:30 pm
4. 5pm. 6:30pm
5. 9pm. 10:30pm
6. 1am. 2:30am
I found that I have cold water all day long without freezing with this method. It probably saves on power too. The caveat is you can't count on having piping hot water throughout the day- only in half hour spurts six times a day. But you can at least tweak the on and off times accordingly to get hot water at the times of days you usually need it.

Hello, hope you still see this! I have the same model and the cool water dispenser is leaking can’t find a video that helps with that.
Thanks for this video, my hot water dispenser does not work at all. It dispenses cold water only. Would I apply this same principle?

I'm sorry, I don't think so. That's a separate issue. The thermostat adjustment I'm referring to only changes the cold water temp. I'm only aware of the on/off switch for the hot water on this model on the back.

Hello notice since last 2 days No blue light don’t appear and the water is not coming out as usual only drop by drop from the 3rd button How to fix it please Any help??
Do you keep both the hot and cold buttons on the back on all the time?

That's a great question. I had heard that turning off the hot water button in the summer would help so we tried that but it didn't make much of a difference. We have since gotten rid of this unit altogether but I've kept the video up to help others.

Hello, mine was working just fine when all of a sudden the water won’t come out from any of the options. I notice the water level stays up how can I drain or clean the system ? Thanks for any help

Do you know how to reset the button for the hot water?

Hi. On my model, there is no "reset" button that I'm aware of. There's just a red "on/off" button on the back near the top that you can see in the beginning of the video.

I just service one of these, there's a small hot water tank on the top right-hand side, (same side as the dispenser) The heating elements sometimes go bad. The one I just serviced I push all the wires in and tapped the thermostats it started working again instantly, I might post a video later on.
My Dispenser not getting cold it warm water it same as pictures
The green light stays on the compressor do not come on when I plug it up

Hello. I'm not sure why your compressor isn't coming on at all even when the green light is on (I think that's what you're saying). You may want to search other KZread videos for that problem. I'm sorry I can't direct you on what to do.
