Helpful review. I am in a quandry over open burners, which provide more heat or sealed burners, which make cleanup easier, but provide less heat. Also, since I am older, a bottom broiler no longer makes sense. I can't image having to lie down on the floor to clean it! Thanks much.

After spending many hours online looking for a new stove ,reading the reviews,I decided to buy a GE 4 burners range instead of a 5 burners. And I am happy with my decision. The griddle gives more problems than is useful, the grease cleaning from the griddle and the burners is a pain… I don’t have the broiler on the bottom of the range,I have a storage drawer. As per a lot of reviews ,people hate the broiler on the bottom. In my range the broiler is inside the oven. I payed for the range $699. So, to avoid additional problems in life,I made a good decision buying a 4 burners range instead of a 5. Thank you,Sir for the video.GE doesn’t provide anymore a user manual .Your video is very helpful.🙏👍

Helpful review. My Whirlpool gas range needs to go bad, its 19 years old now. I have only had my house for 2 years, but its an old stove. I will pull the trigger this week, down to this one and a Samsung with a griddle that looks exactly like this one nearly but has an air fryer function and WiFi connection. But it is also $100 more. But also the GE has a 3 week wait and they have the Samsung in stock. Adult decisions...

I bought this stove one week ago. I absolutely love it! Especially the griddle. If the griddle wears out I'll replace the griddle. I've seen them for sale on Amazon. There's even a cast iron griddle! The one which came with the stove is aluminum. I use paper towels to remove excess grease from the griddle and dont find need to remove the griddle to clean it. I absorb oil with paper towels and wipe down with a dishcloth when I'm washing dishes. I bought a large silicone mat and cut it into two pieces to cover the burners while I am using the griddle to prevent grease from getting under the burners.

I have baked on grease(I guess) on the griddle on my 30” gas range that will not come off with normal cleaning. If the grill is made of Teflon and not cast iron (which I do know how to clean) then is there a product or another way to remove the residue?

According to my grandma who gave me a stove, says it's over 39 tears old. Gad it for about 10 myself so that makes it over 49 years old (give or take). It finally went kaput so i ordered this one and it'll be here Wednesday. Luckily i don't care even a little about the caps staining. Looks like its gonna be a good stove though. Look forward to using it.

I was wondering, has anyone experienced the oven shutting off after being turned on. I set the oven to bake, it then cycled through the preheat and came to the desired temperature. I set the timer for the duration of cooking, i walked away from the kitchen to find my oven had no power from the display and the oven shut off completely. Unsure about why this happened, i called to request a service technician come to look at my range. With all this being said im kind of afraid to use any part of the range with the issues it's displayed thus far. Since electricity and gas are involved, i will wait for it to be looked at before resuming any use of this range, it's new only a week old now. Could this be a feature that's normal? Oh yeah I forgot to mention, after the display lost power and oven shut off, 10 minutes later I walked into the kitchen to find the display illuminated by the power again.

Also can anyone check behind thier SS colored stove and see if that back upper panel is black or white and if its slightly popped off. Like if you ran your hand across the top of the console-back of the oven if you can feel the back metal panel popped up a bit. Seems like mine is white for some reason and popped off, like they either ran out of the correct one or messed up. I just got it on sale for 650 dollars, so I'm trying to not care. But its brand new and shouldn't be like this. Also broiler is poo for being in the bottom, never had a stove with it down there ever. Lol.

14 years is all you got out of your stove?? That's crazy!! Anyway, I have the same stove as you bought October 2020 and couldn't be happier. I did end up buying a standard center grill from GE because after using the Griddle a couple times I got sick of the grease spitting all over the stove from cooking bacon and eggs. I always use a deep cast iron frying pan for such things as it doesn't make a mess, plus cast iron is 1000% better than Teflon, in my opinion anyway. That being said I enjoyed your video and I'm hoping my stove lasts me a good 30 or so years. My Whirlpool Gold refrigerator I bought new will be 20 years old this December and has been flawless as I vacuum the coils underneath it once a month as well as the fan in the back I oil every 6 months. I bet my fridge will make it easily another 20 years...omg....I'll be 61....depressing! Thanks again for the video.

Definitely great when you get your longevity out of items, just make sure that you’re not starting to eat more in energy cost though of having a older appliance because while appliances don’t last as long as they used to they are far more energy efficient than they were 10 years ago let alone, 20+. I also tell people, though one reason why appliances generally don’t last as long as they used to it because they don’t have to and why people say it’s because they are cheaper now which is true however, I don’t think people realize back when appliances were built to last 20 25 and 30 years for example most those appliances for what they cost back then you paid a lot more and would be the equivalent of almost 3 times the cost now for example with my grandparents they paid $1100 for their fridge back then which a lot of people will tell you well that’s way cheaper than the 16 or $1700 I pay now but when you adjusted for inflation for whatpeople made back then it was more like paying almost 5 grand for their fridge, so OK you know it’s gonna last you 30 years let’s say OK great you divide that five grand overtime and essentially it cost you $133 over that lifespan with zero cost of repairs or anything. Now that new $1600 fridge to get that same 133 year amount you would have to have it for 12 years which should definitely be doable because most will have motor warranties and what not for at least about a decade but you also have the factor in over that timeframe how inefficient did that 25-year-old appliance become and hit the factor in that price point two so then it really probably gets closer to around $140 per year to own is a lot closer to that price of appliances now. Sure appliances aren’t any more reliable overall than factor, technically less reliable, especially long-term however, the costs associated are actually very similar. Believe it or not a lot of people upgrade their appliances before they really actually need to typically because they want more features or different style and mainly aesthetically a reason for a lot of people want to upgrade or to get a larger fridge. If you have something that works great and you can keep going that’s great but I think a lot of people don’t realize that everything isn’t just absolutely horrendous now because it’s actually not true things like home construction are actually built better. It’s just built differently, and when it comes to stuff like appliances, it just doesn’t need to be built the same way it used to because they realize people will upgrade more frequently than they used to and to get those prices to say that’s another reason.

Thanks for a pedantic review of this gas range. I hope you are willing to take creative criticism because I feel you barely scratched the surface of this range in your review. I had to laugh when you started talking about ease to clean and talked about the weight of the grates because as soon as you mentioned the weight as being greater than you were used to I immediately thought, well of course, it's a single grate covering two burners. But after you explained that it was heavier duty and covered both grates I wondered why you started off saying it was much heavier and was heavy duty and covered both grates and proceeded to explain why when of course it should be obvious. A much wordier and redundant explanation. Also the soot on your burner cover. Not sure why that would need further explanation but it's your video. The middle burner griddle would clearly be a pain to use on high grease fat splattery foods like bacon. Clearly it's best for things like pancakes, grill cheese sandwiches etc as you stated that doesn't send grease spatter everywhere. That's no strike against it. That comes close to saying it's a strike against the stove if you tried to grill a steak on the burner covers to get grill marks and the amount of grease was too much to make that idea useful. Keep in mind the burner covers (all of them) are hot after use just the same as the griddle. The remark about the heat vent was pretty funny. You were initially concerned but it turned out it was normal and by design. All of the sudden it made sense. Who would put anything on a still hot stove that can't take heat? Having used the stove you had no complaints but still included all that in your review. The feature that turns off the oven after the timer expires but doesn't stop the beeping? It's a bug not a feature. You will have to approach the oven anyway to turn the timer off. If the oven gets turned off after the timer expires and you find you still need to keep it cooking because the temp of the food is below 165 fahrenheit (ie chicken pot pie) you will have to restart the oven. I didn't see it mentioned how easy it is or is not to clean the broiler and of course when you use one the other will heat up as well. Hardly needs to be said since it only makes sense. So one review reflected the same issue you had. That it was one review so that makes the two of you out of how many reviews. That you tried to validate your opinion said something right there. I would think you would catch on that no one really cares that much. Then you go on about the replacement burner covers and how the store rep had two sets. One trip cook and one to look nicer. I have no fucks to give how my burners look to company. They are at my house for my company and good food smoking friends but not as far as I know to check my tidiness. If it's a big enough issue that someone mentions it I doubt i need prima donna friends like that. Then you go one to basically say it wasn't really a problem after all as it self fixed over time. All in all I found your review to be wasteful of a viewer's time with little benefit. I would also like to know how you would clean the area below the surface below the burners. Does the top swing up like most stoves? I went to the store and looked at it but it did not seem to move and the sales person had no clue. Good luck in the future.

Anyone else cringe when he was using metal utensils with the non-stick griddle? LOL! Anyway, we have an upgraded version of the same stove (JGB735SPSS). The main difference is that the broiler is in the oven compartment and we do have a storage drawer. Also, it has convection features. These are solid stoves and we are happy with ours.

I usually do not leave comments on you tube videos, but I have to say this was very thorough and made me feel better with my decision to have purchased this unit.
