I have 4G94, idle is OK but when engage any forward or reverse Tom drops down and engine shuts off itself.

There is 3 things you need for a gas engine to start. Fuel , Air and Spark. A yeah , and also compression. You can check for fuel issues with starter fluid, just remove the pipe going to the air filter and spray some fluid , try to start the car. If it starts , probably fuel pump or fuel pump relay , or fuse. Write me after. We will start this vehicle together.

Would also love to see a full tb cleaning! Just got my 2002 pajero io 2.0 gdi and same idle problem so going to clean tb and do plugs hopefully helps!

May i know where is the idle air controller valve located on gdi?
