Yeah, but it doesn't just affect the people that got it right because many people spent ages looking at the question and trying to solve it when they could have just been checking other questions like lesser-able students did because they knew that they wouldn't be able to answer the question. Some people spent 20+ minutes staring at that question or trying to solve it and simply taking that question away will not solve that.

Bruda it’s life I solve du bloody question but I spent almost a hour on it then after the exam I figured out that my way was a massive waste of time cause there’s another way which only takes 3 steps

They don’t go that much higher, but it makes sense. Everyone gets the marks for one question so the average grade goes up by a couple marks, you can’t just have one year getting better grades on average because of a leak - it would mess up statistics and make the kids seem smarter than they actually are, so the grade boundaries increase proportionately so that it’s basically as if that question wasn’t there (so for example the average score was 30/50 but because of that question the average score went up to 34/50 so then to get a 6 the boundary wound go from 32 to 36)

the real question everyone should be asking is that how will edexcel actually find out who the cheaters are? It would be close to impossible to know the difference of those who got the full marks with cheating or without. Like what if someone's revised so much for that question and are capable enough to get 5 marks, would they get considered cheaters too?

They put out a statement to make it seem like they’re doing something, but realistically nothing will happen. Papers have been leaked before, they come out with a statement to say they’re trying to sort it, and always come to the conclusion that only a small amount of people saw the questions. It’s just because they’re powerless to actually find out who saw the leak, and too lazy to create a new paper.

My best guess is they will only look at people who are guaranteed to have cheated and are caught and give them 0, people who aren’t found are lucky and escape. So no people who genuinely got 5/5 won’t be accused and rightly so. But ultimately everyone will get 5/5

This is like the 3rd/4th year that the Edexcel maths paper has been leaked. I've heard rumours that the A-level maths paper has been leaked too which if true, I'll be extremely pissed off at.

@@NaThingSerious leak means that the grade boundaries could potentially be raised higher so many of us who could have gotten 9 will get a 8. High grade boundaries I have seen in other subjects could have raised to 80 percent as grade 8 while originally the math grade boundaries we had 80% is a grade 9

If I was to personally give my opinion I would say do a resit u may think that it’s overdramatise however it is the only way that the test is made fair for everyone

That's so unfair people who had the paper will get higher grades than the people who actually revised and put effort in edexcel needs to resit the exam asap because hardworkers don't deserve to be pushed into the lower bands just because some people don't have morals!!!!!!!!!!!

We used to do old papers again and again and again thinking that the questions would be totally different, however the questions were pretty much the same on the old papers as the brand-new one. This was about 20 years ago. Didn’t help me cause I’m bad a maths.

Hello sir could you please reply to this as its really urgent- so I've been revising for maths since last October but I haven't seen any improvement. I really want to pass however its just the worded questions that I absolutely struggle with. I've done all of ocrs past papers yet I still don't get the hang of worded questions. I don't know what the questions asks me to do and when we have to subtract, minus, times and divide. I guess worded problems require logical thinking and unfortunately i don't have that. I really want to pass, I've tried out everything and I'm just so overwhelmed. Any tips and advice?

Firstly, well done for trying to do your best and reach your potential. I must commend you for that. 👏🏽👏🏽 Worded questions are always tricky and I have been providing advice for this on my tiktok channel. I will be posting more content for this too. Also check out my exam paper walkthrough playlist on the KZread channel and go through the various videos which I have for exam questions. Pay careful attention to how I build up the question from reading the question out, highlighting key words and identifying the topics needed for the question.

GCSEs should be scrapped it Is so much pressure for a 16 yr old kid which then you get nothing out of it. Also when you start your GCSEs course in yr 9 or 10 lessons don't feel like lessons anymore we are just being taught what we need and the rest is not important. GCSEs are a waste of everyone's stress and time

Unlucky, i did AQA for maths and the paper was too ez for higher

Some things I didn't understand on the foundation edexcel paper 1 is that why did standard form and Sin come up we never learned that in class but still put something down for it like the sin 30 final question it was only 1 mark so I put 15 then for standard form I guessed probaly of got a mark or something they both question types that should be on higher or paper 2 or 3 which are calculator.

It doesn’t affect that the next year. Basically, the grade boundaries are decided each year after the papers from that year are marked and it depends on how well people did nationally. If Edexcel decides to give everyone 5 marks for that question, many people -such as myself- who otherwise wouldn’t have gotten those marks will be awarded them. This means people have higher marks so the number of marks needed for a 9 will be higher than previous years.

The ones that cheated WILL not get an extra 5 marks. Edexcel are aware of which questions have been leaked online and only those questions will be looked at along with their respective marks. Hopefully, their investigations and actions will have equalised the marks for everyone. Investigation is still pending so let's see what the outcome is.

We don't know if the original leak was a student or someone else that may had had access to them. Hopefully, the impact on those who were innocent and sat their exams will be less.

They usually do but can only give this to schools if a leak is discovered early enough to courier over new papers before the exam
