Seeing the ADF and AAF exercise together - Australia has an allie that will be with us - and us with them. Australia and Singapore must work together to secure the region with the help of the Malaysian and Indonesian forces. Inspiring Video that shows the comittment required to maintain military forces at a high state of rediness. I know that all the Guardsmen worked through mental and physical challenges to get the Khakai Beret. To all of you from a former Australian Army Reservist - I Salute all of you including those on the coruse but may have been excluded due to injury or it not being for you. Those feeling less for not conintuing - you did more than what an ordinary citizen could do. You just realised that there was another path for you. DO NOT feel shame, Feel that you tried but found there was another pathway. To me, those in the excluded party - you gave it a go and are still brave for admitting that another path was for you. There is no shame. You attempted, and you realised your path was not with the Guardsmen. You have more to offer life and do not need to be shameful of your course attempt. Build your career in the SAF in another area and then in Civilian life, tell them that you gave it a go, but it was not for you. You still cab have a fruitful life after your initial National Service. From an Australian Citizen that has great admiration for all Singaporean National Servicemen. Remember, NS is for a long time but you can use this time to workout what you want from Civilian life. Good luck to all of you NS men.

Welcome to the Guards family! Heli rappel training sure bring back memories. Not sure if the mock tower with the heli-skids still a thing. Back then, able to train to execute the Australian rappel was insightful technique, key was to avoid rope-burn to the skin of the neck arch. Memorable too was standing on the Huey skids ready to rappel, when the pilot signaled the need to make a flight rotation. The detail leaned into the cabin holding on to the rope attached to the release mechanism, and I believe we enjoyed the flight and scenery as the Huey flew. I appreciate the opportunity to serve in the formation I wanted, and where I truly felt belonged. Thank you Singapore, SAF and Army! Not forgetting my fellow comrades and commanders whom I served with. Looking out and caring for each other. Ready to Strike! Singapore Guards! 2GDs C-coy 93~95

I do agree with you that such responses, insofar as they demonstrate an inability at basic argument, reflect your low societal status. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Study a bit more. Maybe pick up a Logic 101 Module in a basic dumping ground course and you could possibly use the veneer of language to mask the lack which nature may have endowed you.

i guess because airborne is no longer a requirment for modern combat , heli borne provide more precise insertion and fits modern tactics unlike impractical large scale airborne ops back in WW2

@@jiahan22 I was ever posted to 3rd Guards as a platoon Sgt before and seen their GCC. If this 3 weeks Air Borne Course was added into GCC, there will be a difference ... Go for the Best Combat Unit of the year ... Cheers and well done.
