GBRS Group SWAT Training

Over the past 2 years I’ve been trying to learn a bit more about video. I believe that different stories require different mediums for their effective portrayal, with some stories being best conveyed through photographs while others need the power of video narration. Storytelling is not one size fits all.
Video has always been super intimidating to me but talking to new people has not.
Hearing their stories and gaining insights into the mindset of high-performing individuals has always intrigued me.
Recently, I had the opportunity to participate in a training day with 2 retired navy seals and their company @GBRSGroup , where I documented Alec Iurato and his colleagues as they engaged in an intensive day of training.
Alec Iurato experienced a profound loss in October of 2022 when two of his partners fell victim to gun violence. While acknowledging the contentious nature of the policing system in our country, I was particularly interested in exploring the role of camaraderie in the healing process following such a tragic event. I couldn't help but wonder how individuals could find the strength to return to their jobs after enduring such violence and terror. Witnessing Alec Iurato approach his work with resilience and a smile on his face has been truly inspiring.

That was profound. GBRS is next level. That really cool to see how it’s turning something akin to a martial art, in fact it is a martial art-but finally the free flowing thought pattern (“be like water”) is acceptable under this genre. Awesome mindset, great video. Osss

Thank you for giving this team and GBRS of your time and talent! These are true professionals that live and die for each other as a team. If you are on a SWAT team with any mindset other than that, you are doing the team a disservice. It doesn't matter how you feel about the teammate next to you personally. All that matters is that, when it is mission time, you take care of each other because you don't want to be the guy that didn't make sure he went home to his wife and kids. My SWAT team and the camaraderie we shared is the only thing I miss about my career.

You're doing the right thing even if we have to stand against them someday. The first step to this issue is training and working together. Let's bring our police and our militias closer together. Let's make our communities stronger. Let's encourage a culture where our police and our citizens can teach each other and maintain a balance of life and mutual respect. Glad to see some people not just myself are a bit uncomfortable with cops playing operators. Maybe just cause I grew up in the 90’s but it’s always rubbed me the wrong way how modern police want so badly to emulate the military, particularly sof. I remember back when swat was running all solid color black, navy, green uniforms, with no nods, and primarily shotguns and mp5’s. These days you have departments out there with teams running around in fucking panoramic night vision goggles, driving mraps, wearing full multicam looking like they just ripped off a delta force yard sale smh. I don’t hate all cops, I’m sorry they lost some guys, I’m glad they’re all interested in becoming the best officers they can be, but… there is a line where militarization of local agencies goes too far. Id like to think this was simply just a simple cqb workshop and then primarily a lot of focus on community building and group healing from their recent losses. Swat (in general, I’m not calling out the group in this video) can’t respond to incidents like the military/sof can. You can’t treat Americans like an Iraqi family in the middle of an active war zone. We all saw how bad 2020 and the riots were, well if you keep enforcing people with military training, tactics and equipment it’s not going to get better any time soon.

I know for certain the lads from the GBRS group are. I find it laughable that you sit behind a screen, calling the people that protect you in the face of danger on the daily, chickens.

Police dont need militarized training they need morals and the balls to stand up against and not enforce tryanical laws even if that means resigning and finding another way to serve the community. How about go train up the local militias in the states that still allow it? Im for gbrs for the record. However i have very little faith in law enforcement these days especially where im from. They just cant be trusted.

Yeah man I know the role of SWAT. Depends on what and who they're going for and why and just following orders isn't good enough. Like being told to stand down while there's a school shooting or kicking in doors for gun laws. Not speaking for all departments but there are a lot that aren't in the right mindset or in it for the right reasons.

Yeah dude, so when someone holds you or your family member hostage, a active shooter breaks out somewhere your at, or any other violent crime it's better to have Untrained people showing up? Or are you just going to step up and handle everyone else's problems yourself like LE does on an everyday basis.... Not saying it doesn't happen but your chances of LE protecting you or your loved ones is far greater then then infringing on you rights even if social media tells you differently. If your that in fear of police training then go train and become better yourself...

@@justaguy7948 To be just, the law must be limited. Sadly, this is the very situation our Founding Fathers warned us against. In 1788 James Madison wrote: "It will be of little avail to the people that the laws are made by men of their own choice if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood; if they undergo such incessant changes that no man, who knows what the law is today, can guess what it will be tomorrow. Law is defined to be a rule of action; but how can that be a rule, which is little known, and less fixed?" Since law is force, it should be restricted to the one purpose for which individuals may legitimately use force--to protect our natural rights. As Thomas Jefferson put it, the law should "restrain men from injuring one another" but "leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits." Do I have the right to use force against my neighbor to achieve this goal? Would I be willing to forcibly take his property, lock him in jail, or (in some cases) put him to death for failing to obey a particular law?

@@justaguy7948 you’re making the assumption that I don’t train. I spend a lot of time and resources becoming a better protector. @@RLS_91 @RLS_91 never said you don't train and you should....dont need a sticker on my car... I'm LE and have been for years in a very liberal state with high violent crime.... If you think the vast majority of this nation don't need law enforcement you would be mistaken... If you train and can be a "protector" that's awesome but most don't have that mindset unfortunately, so a world of lawlessness until martial law is put in place by Feds would be the result if all state and local LE weren't there to do the day to day jobs they do....if you think we don't have freedom now wait until that happens, Noone would be safe.... Im an instructor for firearms, use of force and been in and out of tactical schools, almost all the LE from many different agencies have the same conversations about government overreach and hate the same gun laws as everyone else. Most talk about getting out and how little pension some of us still get isn't worth it. How many times discretion and the blinders have been put on for things we don't believe are constitutional is unreal... You are being influenced by a small percentage of encounters of videos on social compared to the huge number of everday police contacts. Those videos make it around to all of us too, we probably criticize then more then you do. It effects us directly. Law enforcement does need change and the ACAB /bootlicker keyboard warriors aren't the solution. Real conversations and logic need to be had because good cops are giving up the profession and the next generation coming are not the ones your going to want moving up the ranks.

Trust me if people didn't need police the world would be a better place.... Societies issues are getting worse everyday and if you live in a rural place were crime doesn't exist so you don't realize how it is in the city then that's great but eventually it's going to overflow out there to without some rule of law... Alot, I would even say most LE is just as frustrated if not more so with politicians, laws and the justice system then you. We just can't openly express it because our 1st amendment rights don't exist...
