I actually really like Dynasty Warriors Advance for what it is. Simple, mindless fun. Feels like an old school version of the series from a parallel universe, where it started on SNES.
Super Dodgeball Advance was one of my favorite games for this system. It was also one of my favorites for the NES.

Dude, that game was an ADDICTION. I remember a friend letting me borrow it, must've been about 16, and I straight up told him "youre not getting this back man!"
YEEES! Thanks for giving Oriental Blue: Ao no Tengai a spot in the video! For me, it's one of the most underrated RPGs of the GBA, I've been having a BLAST playing it, and it's truly a shame games of this quality never came to the west... You should maybe consider making a video for japanese exclusive gba games (or well, it'll be cool to see a video of this kind for any console as well), because SERIOUSLY, there's a lot of great quality games we never got to play due to market and language barriers...

@@thatvideogamesshow Just in case you needed some games for the video, I can recommend you to check out: Slime Morimori Dragon Quest: Shōgeki no Shippo Dan Bomberman Jetters - Densetsu no Bomberman Custom Robo GX Duel Masters 3 Hagane no Renkinjutsushi - Meisou no Rondo & Omoide no Sonata Kidou Senshi Gundam Seed Destiny Magical Houshin Super Robot Taisen J (I think this one would fit better in a Graphically Impressive video, since it's probably one of the best looking GBA games ever made) Tales of the World: Narikiri Dungeon 2 & 3 Zoids Saga - Fuzors Summon Night: Swordcraft Story 3 (Stone of Beginnings) Boktai 3 (Sabata's Counterattack) Kururin Paradise DigiCommunication 2 To be honest, I don't remember if any of these games have already appeared in a previous GBA video you've made, but this is all the "high quality" japanese exclusive GBA games I can think of right now. Hope this helps with the research!

Do you play on Rom/emulator or is there a way to play a cartridge in English?
@Alquirot_94
Жыл бұрын
@@lucasperrella9280 Well, I normally play using emulators, such as mGBA, but as far as I know, you can also play GBA ROMs on real hardware by using flashcarts (Such as the EZ Flash Omega series) and inserting the games you want in it through an SD card. If what you want is to play a Japanese exclusive GBA game with an english patch (that would be the case for Oriental Blue, for example), you first have to patch your copy of the game in your computer (or phone idk), then insert the patched copy on your SD card, and finally put the SD on your flashcart and boot your GBA. Hope this helps!
The game i played the most from the gba library was fire pro wrestling 2. The level of customization was insane
Oriental Blue is really massive. I played it to death over the years, and even then i just saw things in the video that i haven't seen yet in the game.

Of all the complete romsets and 3000+ physical games and books/magazines/KZread vid, I feel like I've seen and heard every "non sport/child shovelware" game out there, imports included. Kinda depressing cuz very few discoveries or surprises anymore, but you manage to find some decent or better games that TRULY "nobody else talks about" Dokapon, Oriental Blue, and Shaman King on GBA I never came across! Thanks again for another great vid!

There are two Shaman King games in that style. They're basically Castlevania (made by Konami, after all) with Shaman King's characters.
@bobmcbob4399
Жыл бұрын
@@girloninternet1188 I really like the 3 x DS Castlevanias, so was interested in firing up the mini snes to play Shaman King 1 and 2. For 1 it is very much a map interconnected by linear (as in straight line) levels which you may or may not be able to cross with your current abilities which you pick up - I found it very tedious. For 2, I got through the into interconnected bits up to the first boss, but found it too similar to 1 at that point and dropped it. I have never played Castlevania 1-4, so perhaps it may resemble that. I like the metroidvania style which was born from "Castlevania - Symphony of the Night" on the PS1, but these Shaman games are not that. For metroidvania fans, I wouldn't bother with these Shaman licensed games as they lack too many features of metroidvania to be considered one.

I'm posting this here because it's the most recent video, but i already watched 5 of those videos and even when i though i knew most if not all interesting games of a platform, you manage to find a lot of them that i never heard about ! Whoa ! Like here Oriental Blue or Infested on the PSP or Kronos Twin on DS. I'm REALLY surprised because the very clean aspect of the chain would have me believe that you would talk only about more known hidden gem like uh Umihara Kawase on PSP, Yggdra Union on GBA or Okamiden on DS. ( and i didn't took the worst ones... Sometime, Disgaea is considered like unknown ! ) You talk about that kind of more known hidden gem too of course ! But since you don't shy from licensed game like me, you often find really surprisingly interesting game like this shaman King In five words : Thank you for the video !

Dual Blades might look alright if those animations got polished up, but as it stands it looks very beta. The frame timings, the way some attacks are drawn and the lacking frame count are all needing some work. Even the individual frames look uncleaned from their drawings. I'm sure it's fun, but I don't think I could stand looking at it for long myself. Animations are very important in fighting games for reading your opponents moves.
The gba has some gems and I need to check some of these out

Be ready for a list of gba games everybody talks about
Esse Oriental Blue é uma cópia de Phantasy Star danada. 😂
As always, looking to see what of these "games nobody talks about" I happen to own or alternatively, which ones I wish to own. 4:09 - I recall Dokapon Monster Hunter; I remember reading about it strangely enough in a Pokémon magazine (the whole monster collecting aspect might be why) I collected at the time. I had my eye out for it, along with a few other GBA games the magazine mentioned, but never did stumble across it. 5:30 - I recall the odd magazine and video mentioning Wade Hixton's Counter Punch as an underrated gem on the GBA. It certainly looks gorgeous. Quite a detailed description of the game here. 11:50 - Eggo Mania; my younger brother adored this game. We have it on PS2; didn't realise it came out on the GBA as well. Such a fun game (no idea why all the characters are eggs but it is a charming look). 14:58 - Oriental Blue's non-scripted boss encounters sounds like a lot of fun. I do wonder how that quite works story-wise though, as whilst I could see it in a more friendly competition game like Pokémon (other trainers usually aren't trying to cause you harm; it's a competition), here it looks more typical JRPG save the world affair.

Some bosses you have to beat, some you don't, and some have branching paths for if you win or lose. Only way to find out: play it!!
Biggest issue with gba games is that it's hard at a glance to tell if they're fake or not. I got a few fake cartridges and some of them work fine but warioland 4 and final fantasy VI can't save😢
@rottencorpsexxx
Жыл бұрын
A few tips. Carts that won't save may need a battery changed, doesn't always mean they're fake. I little trick I always use to spot if the game is fake or real: always look very closely at the label on a cart (sticker). Sellers 99% of the time provide a photo of the cart be it CIB or loose game. There always should be a random 2-digit number barely visible indented into it. Very hard to see sometimes due to light but if it's there it's a legit card. Fakes never have indented number on labels.
