Mouse steering brings in more precision for people who know when to stop turning the wheel. Now you can get sharper turns faster using mouse for steering. Why mouse? Because that's the most precise input apart from a full-on racing wheel. Game controllers can't even compete.
Mouse-steering mode is best suited with "Understeer Assist" off, so you can tell when your tires are slipping by the feel and sound without relying on assists. This mode is not suited for beginners or casual players. But it is worth trying out for everyone.
