she was nervous, yes.. and her not being able to answer well her wild card interview is understable as it was an on the spot question, but her top 20 advocacy speech? we all know the candidates prepared for it, she even had it memorized.. but after watching her deliver it, there’s just no coherence in what she was trying to say.. i don’t know if she forgot a sentence or two but it seems like it.. anyway, i still believe she’s one of the most beautiful filipinas to represent the country.. :)

They don’t have the right to bash Gazini. She faced many challenges already with her trainings, catwalks and joining this contest. Its already a great feat and Gazini did well. Top 20 and Best National costume is already an achievement in itself.

So sad to watch 🥺. Rumors say she was trained non stop for a back2back and I really do feel like she felt pressured to do so. Not only from her team but from the fans as well. Such a shame because a beautiful lady with an amazing background such as Gazini would’ve done so much better if she was more relaxed and confident in herself. Guys, let’s stop pressuring our queens. RutherFord Camerino there are no biases here. Miss USA is a lawyer. Just to let you know, there are three criterias to be judged here. The Prelim Interview, SS and Evening gown prelims. And I think Gazini has a low score in prelim interview based on how she responds to the question. Prelin Interview has the highes percentage conpared to SS and Evening gown.

@@Luna_WQ917 just admit that gazini didn't do as well as the other ladies. complaining about the speaking part making it a quiz bee? that's included in being miss universe, they HAVE to be eloquent and articulate, not just physically beautiful like you want.

My top 3 were Philippines, Mexico and Thailand. But South Africa wa very solid on her presentation and speaking skills it eventually became clearer near the end she would win.

There isn't going to be a "Next Year" for GAZINI. She had her chance---and blew it. Her entire performance as well as her presence felt forced. The girl tried too hard---and yet not enough. Oh, and that fake-a*s bottom lip of hers is looking very suspect. Perhaps it was the lip fillers that made her choke on her own words. Thank you-------> next.

Do you know why she did not got into Asia & Africa region's Top 5? It was because of the preliminary heavy looking fabric gown. Gazini herself was not highlighted much, her very beautiful face and curvy body. She was overwhelmed by that golden and seemingly a national costume instead of a dress. It really looks heavy and she couldn't move freely to execute her MU moves. Moreover she's like she was just modelling the dress. Otherwise, with her speech it was obvious that she memorized it and she did mumbled. Nervousness pulled her down a little to deliver her speech naturally. Yet, her over-all MU performance is still commendable. Thank you Gazini for representing the Philippines well. Congratulations for being in Top 20.

The Miss Universe organization hinted that they want someone who is more of a spokesperson and not a model. Unfortunately Gazini is more of a model being absolutely freaking gorgeous and not much of a spokesperson or as eloquent as the other candidates. Her opening statement sentences seemed like they were delivered out of order and contrived - she was so uneasy,. It was painful to watch honestly - I felt for her...

@@aarongarcia9945 I would guess its a combination of everything that lead up to that moment.. Nerves, uncertainty, the weight of her country, expectations... But maybe also because English is not her first language. Where she places emphasis and pauses in her sentences and her sentence structure is a bit confusing. So her message is not coming across. To be honest the only thing I remember distinctly in her opening statement was " THE WORLD IS AGING"... and I was taken aback cause it sounded so apocalyptic and doomsday like, not at all uplifting..

LMAO now that you mentioned it, I do agree. The content or choice of words should have been simple and have impact. Also, I was cringing the whole time because she didn’t sound sure(confident) with her delivery. I don’t know why though, she should have practised this everyday up to the pageant night that she didn’t even need to think for the words but rather they should just come out easily and naturally. She looked like she was memorizing and in fact forgot a few lines or two. I felt bad because I wanted her to make it to top 10. Arrrgh

She will never be a Pia nor a Catriona because she is Gazini - she has her own label, her own style, her own game. She made everything to make it to Top 20 and isn't that enough to make us proud? Well, she can't please everybody but at least, she put a good fight. She enjoyed her journey while carrying the responsibility. Accept it and learn to make improvements.

The fact that she mentioned about her birdthday and the crown and putting harvey on an awkward situation made it a bit of a demanding if you won't take it as a joke. It was better be a joke than to be taken seriously. Relax brah we on the same side. No need to be so defensive what is done is done.

i've always thought that the q & a/speaking part would be her downfall, there's this pa-sweet/patweetums side of her and it's just not for miss universe.. her top 20 speech was a bit forced too and didn't seem sincere.. it might also be because of the pressure of bringing a back to back crown.. nevertheless., she did her best and we should be proud of her..

john2265., yeah it is true., a lot of filipinos gave her the pressure of bringing back the crown and it is just unfortunate that it got to her, maybe.. but let us also acknowledge the fact that there are a lot of filipinos who supported her and has continued to support her even after she did not make it to the top 10.. it wasn't for her., plain and simple.. happy holidays!

Syempre dahil nag-focus kayo sa sea games para suportahan ang ating atleta, wala na tuloy natira para kay gazini, thats the problem Pangalawa, isa sa judges na nilaglag sya dahil hanggang ngayon bitter paden na nanalo ang pilipinas nung 2015 dahil hindi nangyare ang back2back crown for colombia. Yun ay si Paulina Vega At last. Napanood nyo naman sa mismong video na sinabi nya pa about sa b-day nya at pamasko, parang nanghingi ng pabor ang dating

I'm a HUGE fan of hers since BB Pilipinas (yes, I liked her more than Patch). But let BB Pilipinas take this experience as a lesson that although she is bright and intelligent in her own way, we need someone strong in ALL aspects (beauty, brains, communication/social skills, and advocacy) in order to make it far at Miss Universe. Gazini's best asset was her beauty and that was her downfall. There needs to be a strong balance, and BB Pilipinas needs to stop sending someone to Miss Universe that they feel is the prettiest...because Miss Universe is about so much more than that.

Well top 20 wasn't bad atleast she's in that spot. Imagine among other MU contender she's still there? So that's pretty good enough than nothing at all. And then remember there is still a voting I red a lot of Filipino people saying their votes weren't counted they were late, and add to that I also red some Filipino people commenting their votes for the other country instead of their ph contender so GAZINI did her best just that it's not her luck. Anyway not winning the MU doesn't mean she's left behind. She,can still go on with her life

The colour was pretty, but the lack of any sparkle was a bit disappointing.

She is sooooo beautiful but the nerves and the choice of gowns pulled her down.

@@frenchkennyramos if she couldn’t handle a PREPARED statement… where all she had to do was repeat memorized lines, presumably about an advocacy she cares about, what makes you think she’d get past 1 (maybe 2) rounds of ON THE SPOT questions with continued mounting pressure 😂😂. She could barely get through the Steve Harvey question with her clunky sentences. Maybe, and it’s a big maybe, she’d make it to gown but Madison has trump era written all over her and she still made it to 1st runner up in img era. Puerto Rico, Thailand, and France would likely make it further. It’s okay to say you don’t have a strong candidate lol.

The contestants this year were all amazing, almost all are beautiful and well articulate. It is really tough fight. Miss universe bar is so high now. You cannot be just beautiful, you need to have essence and very smart as well, a complete package. The top 5 did really amazing job answering the question it is really hard to choose. That is why they stop saying the most beautiful women, they change it the most outstanding women in the world, which is higher.

Miss Gazini still my Idol eventhough she is not in top 10. She's smart,beautiful&kind. Believe,God has more beautiful plan for you. Stay strong,healthy&spread kindness. Love&respect from INDONESIA❤❤👍

She should never mention about the gift but answer directly all about why she has 5 different names🤫🤔

We, pinoys, watched the pageant here in CA and we said the same thing. Para kasing pinressure niya ang mga judges na i-gift na lang sa kanya ang crown coz it's her bday at pa-xmas na rin. Tapos kay Steve Harvey pa niya hiniling na hindi naman judge.

She's been through so much pressure since Philippines won last year, and others are expecting more. She still a tremendous performance.

Although Gazini didn't make it to the top 10,it's not because of her lack of effort.To be honest,she already stood out the most from the beginning.I know that she give her best but i guess,that wasn't good enough.I'm still proud of her,We already won last year,let's give some other countries the chance as well.And besides,it's not the end of miss universe,we got lots of chances and preparations for the next competition.☺☺
