This ghazal I first heard on AIR in the early 1960s by Mohd Rafi Sahab. Though later also sang by Mehdi Hasan Sahab. It is one of the non filming ghazal sung by Rafi Sahab. Though I am not trying to pull down Mehdi Sahab in comparison to Rafi Sahab, the "pathos, dejection, and feeling decieved" is far greater brought out in the voice of Rafi Sahab. Here, the lady has also sung beautifully (Subhan Allah), which is nearer to the expression of Mehdi Sahab's andaaz!💕👍👏👌🙏

Rafi sahab's thehrav was the most notable point there. Pathos, dejection ye to unki khasiyat thi hi playback singer hone ke naate. No other singer can maintain that.

I was literally mesmerised throughout the Ghazal, and usually I don't play something more than 10 seconds if I don't get hooked. Tabla guy was little offbeat through critical points where touched tempo way lower than expected, overall he kept up. Superb voice.
