Are you aware that the Boy Scouts of America was started by somebody like her? He moved from Eastern Kentucky to Louisville and missed being outdoors. So he started teaching kids in Louisville, Kentucky, USA skills you'll need to know if being outdoors in a woodsy area. That is some of what Nicole is doing but differently (metal works is an example).

May well be a Fireman's axe, but the spike is called an axaroon; a built-in pickaroon, used as Nicole shows here, to move logs around & onto the block

As a former firefighter I'm very familiar with that style of ax. We had those that were thin and sharp for cutting. Others were blunter and used for smashing stuff without the blade getting stuck.

Same, but for being trans. I didn't know being trans was a thing until my senior year of high school. (Once I accepted that, being gay/lesbian followed quite naturally.) Add to it being poor, and thus it took another 13 years to convince my parents to let me start HRT w/o kicking me out on the street. They won't ever respect me though, I don't think. Not to mention they're mentally/emotionally/verbally abusive. Were physically so when I was very little. Yay. /s

Im a bit older now, and redoing my experimental phase in my adulthood has been hell!! Im sure you know the feeling On the other hand... i only realized i was trans because i saw enough trans people walking around. I somehow figured out im a lesbian before figuring out im trans -- not very bright over here. Now i get to be visibly trans, and show other trans people that there is a way out. Its dangerous... and i get misgendered constantly... but i get to see a glint of comradery in people's eyes. You never deserved abuse. Im so sorry you had to go through that. But youre here now, despite everything. And the rest of us sre better off for it. We are all stronger together, and we all need you.

I’ll be honest? I’m a logger in Ketchikan Alaska…..we don’t have women loggers….like not one….not a single one….ever. They’ve been narrating our lumberjack show for as long as I can remember? And this gal would do well with something like that, and she has some promise swinging an ax endurance wise…. But stone cold truth? She’d get chewed up and spit out as a professional logger. Same goes in the commercial crabbing industry. I’ve seen a couple females try it? It ended quickly….and often with tears. God gave us all our strengths and our weaknesses….and there’s not a thing wrong with that! That’s what makes life so interesting and beautiful!
