Even if this song was originally intended for Tristan & Isolde, Gavin DeGraw was still a huge part of One Tree Hill. He sang their opening titles song, and a lot of his music--including this song--was used on the show. So regardless of where you know it, can't we all just agree it's an amazing song? I knew it from Tristan & Isolde first but I was thrilled when they used it on OTH. We all know it from somewhere different. Let's just leave it at that.

This song makes me so overwhelmingly nostalgic. Being young, skeptical and foolish, me and two of my closest friends at the time made a pact while sitting on the roof of our dorm freshman year in college one late night. Drunk...ambitious...hopeful...hungry...sentient. We made a pact that whichever of us died first, we would somehow give the other two comfort by somehow getting us to hear the last verse of this song on the radio to signify that we were okay. "Someday when you're lonely. Sometime after all this bliss. Somewhere lost in emptiness. I hope you find this gift." Its been almost ten years now and I still turn on my radio everyday and flip through the stations hoping to randomly catch the last verse of this song on some station. Dear friend, I still think about you everyday. I still haven't heard this verse, but I know you're just waiting for the right time. That day when I'm the most lonely. That day when all the bliss has completely evaporated. That day when the emptiness is unfathomable. I know you'll play this verse for me and I'll look up and smile. I'll never stop turning on my radio. I'll never stop listening for this verse. I'll never stop listening for you.

its 2020 and the cafe next to where I work is playing these songs really loud and I had to search the lyrics to find who it was, just so I could come on youtube and say it's the WORST music I've ever heard in my life. His voice is so incredibly unpleasant, and you can tell he just doesn't give a shit at all, about the song writing or the singing. He's a piece of shit and so are you.

What a wonderful song, gavin is so underrated

The last verse to this song is just so powerful! Gavin has such a way with words. You just hope that the person you fell for will truly find your gift of love you had to offer in the end.

Gavin is the freaking best! I have every single song he's ever put out! I've seen him in concert 3 times and will continue to go every time he's in Vegas!

I absolutely have fallen in love with Gavin DeGraw. So glad i heard him on New Years Eve.

DeGraw's songs are contained in the soundtracks of eleven episodes of One Tree Hill. Throughout he is uncredited. However, tracks such as "Belief", "More Than Anyone", "Chariot", "We Belong Together" and "Jealous Guy" all feature in the show. How did I forget about Tristan and Isolde,i freaking own this movie oh to be a teenager and still believe in love. This is why I freaking love the internet because you can become very nostalgic four things you've kind of forgotten about. As in such a crappy mood today but this just made my night😊

This very song, this very version is what made me love Gavin’s music. First song I ever heard by him thanks to this movie. I went out & bought his album & have been a Gavin fan ever since. I saw him in concert & was so happy that he is just as amazing live, one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to💗🥰 I buy every album & have never been disappointed! I was 18 when I discovered this song & am now 33 & still love his music 😁😊 His song Everything Will Change (he performed live @ Daryl’s House) is what gave me the courage to leave my abusive ex & helped get me through 😊🥰 Thank you Gavin, I know you’ll probably never see this comment but thank you none the less & keep the amazing songs & lyrics coming 🎉

I LOVE each time the verse swells into the chorus. It gives me such a rush of emotion! And the song goes VERY well with this movie! Almost brought a tear to my eye.... :)
