Same, I have a really hard time with certain forms of learning and his explanation was really helpful, not to mention the attitude of my teachers is a large factor and his casual "I'm figuring this out with you" supports my learning style.

RzVids the idea is to get it into reduced row echelon form. What that means is you need all your rows to start with 1 (called a leading one), and all your columns that contain this leading one need to have zeros above and below it. There are a lot of ways of going about this; it's kind of a creative process.
