What's funny, is that even though we know he is the devil, in mythology the devil doesn't have a set name, just many monikers. Satan, Old Scratch, Mephistopheles, Iblis, etc. Am I the only one who thinks that what he said there ties into a deeper mythology about the devil himself?

I really did not get the fact how could CDPR made such an awesome game, awesome villians you encounter during your playthrough, and even more awesome DLC villians and just totally FUCK UP Eredin, who should be the main and the scariest one of them. He's like innocent baby next to this Devil.

@@stankohorvat7344 I don't thing CDPR fucked up that bad. Eredin was bad, true, but he was just an elf from another world. Crones are Velen itself, existing before the trees even. The Unseen Elder is one of the strongest beings in the Witcher Universe. G.O.D. is the evil incarnate. So Eredin could never have been that strong as people would want the final boss to be.

after i finished this expansion and chose not to help olgierd saw odimm take his soul i told him i didnt want anything from him the whistling sent chills down my spine and that was only time in this entire game when i truly felt evil was present

Yeah the brief look of fear on geralt is great. Someone else said it but this ending just seems more fitting for the Witcher world. Some monsters are just too powerful.

Yes honestly I 100% believe that is the cannonical ending Geralt would never be foolish enough to try to stop him from taking the soul or accepting a wish as payment

Nothing makes a character quite as terrifying as them whistling their own theme with a no-fucks-given casuality.

Imagine trailer for witcher 4, or ending to Cyberpunk. Credits stop, and you hear this in total darkness,.. :O

Ok i don’t have afraid of any creature in the Witcher until I play hearths of stone I feel that Gaunter O Dim Deserves respect is an strange man with strange power just like the strange man of Red dead Redemption 2

Gaunter is the best Witcher villain without a doubt. There is a reason why he is a fan favorite. His mere presence is powerful, and he is a reflection of what you really are deep down, he simply grants wishes.

Bro I'm kinda sad he was only important in the expansion pack. Yes I know he helped gerelt find yen but you get what I mean.

That was part of what made him great. The fact that you only see him in the beginning makes you think he wasnt a very important character, and then Hearts Of Stones comes

Our encounter with omnipotence left us all scarred it seems 😂

I was expecting to fight him in the end but realizing near the end that he was evil incarnate itself i chose not to..... Its the only time in gaming when i felt a shiver down my spine(this isnt even a horror game bro) as he walked away whistling.

The way that professor died fucked me up real bad for some reason. Almost as if O' Dimm himself decided to give both Geralt and the player a reality check on what happens when you mess with things beyond your comprehension, and he didn't even have to be in the fucking room to do so. How do you even fight something like that?

I love to role play while playing RPG. So when I found out who O'Dimm is suppose to be, I gave him the soul and took nothing! I am not fucking around with the devil/god of that universe. The other guy made the deal with him not me, I just helped you out, now get rid of the scar...then he started whistling and I'm like "I'm going to get the fuck out of here" Edit: changed grammar mistakes

I love how they never really reveal his true identity. He’s not good, but he’s not pure evil. He just grants your wishes… Brings new meaning to the phrase ”careful what you wish for”

There is a book in the witcher 3 (cant remember the name but pretty sure it can be found in karh morhan) that speaks about Eldritch lovcraftian monsters. I think gaunter o dimm is a incarnation or aspect of one.

I've seen and experienced many characters of my years of gaming. None terrified me and made me nervous quite like the Master Of Mirrors.

I Think Gaunter is not satan but one of seven deadly sins he is Gluttony. He alone couldn't had granted olgiers immortality he explained how he had to go to his colleagues to get this wish done meaning there's more like him. He supposed to mirror people desire needs and greed. Which is why he identify himself as a merchant. He'll grant your wishes in exchange of something of equal greater value which in this case is the human soul.

for some reason i didnt get chills down my body while watching O'dimm, if anything i liked him and thought that i am some what similar to him.

What makes eredin greater than Gaunter o'dimm in my opinion is that eredin becomes a much greater threat due to his consistent encounters, along with the fact he has a whole freaking army, but Gaunter o'dimm is more powerful as he can control time, still Gaunter o'dimm wins this by a small margin
