    Oh my god the La Senza Girl pink and brown, as a fellow Canadian I knew EXACTLY what you meant immediately 😂

    It looks like those little clusters of loose stitches are rowing out, not the wrong needle size. Rowing out usually happens to people when they have a different tension when knitting vs. purling, but I find it happens to me when I let too many stitches accumulate on the needle before sliding them down. The stitches that get backed up tend to be looser and look just like the clusters on your cardigan.

    This. Exactly. You are rowing out. ThisAlexaplans explained it perfectly

    I also fell in love with violet opal (because it was purple). Mine will be used in a shawl because I really want to showcase the colour, but a top also sounds very fun

    I would highly recommend adding some white vinegar into water before soaking and blocking! I used the Sandnas Garn jolly blue with a lighter grey for some colorwork, and was so worried about the bleeding especially with having such a vibrant color paired alongside a light color - I did vinegar on a recommendation and everything turned out beautifully.

    I love your idea for a sibling sweater 😻 I absolutely enjoyed working with a kfo heavy merino, and it’s comfortable to wear. To my liking, it's not so slick as Double Sunday, and it was easy to knit and read at the same time

    You should try knitting fingering weight colorwork mittens on 9 inch circular needles. Socks too! I find them so much easier than fiddling with dpns or magic loop.

    Loved hanging out with you! Exactly what I needed after a long week. Just wanted to mention that if you are concerned for the magenta or brown to bleed into each other, you could add white vinegar to the cold water to avoid that. I know sometimes even that doesn‘t help (a friend had a really bad experience with a turquoise Madelinetosh yarn) but it‘s worth a try. I checked out each and everything you mentioned, because I was just so interested! Thanks for sharing 💌

    While you are soaking your headband throw a color catcher into the water. It should help prevent bleeding together of your colors

    I’m glad I’m not the only one who thrifts to harvest buttons! lol!! This doesn’t explain the lime, but teal can be a really hard color to rinse out as well, so petrol doesn’t really surprise me all that much. It is a little disappointing that you’re seeing that so consistently with this brand, though.

    The only Sandes I've used is Peer Gynt in the shade 1088 "Charcoal Heather." When I finished it I remember being pretty shocked at how brown the water was when I blocked it. For the longest time I wasn't sure if the yarn was just dirty or it was the dye, but after hearing what you had to say, and hearing other people talk about it, I think it must have been the dye. I wonder if it's just an issue with how Sandnes Garn dyes their yarn? As I've used KFO Merino in the shade 'Pomegranate' for various projects, and despite that being a very similar colour to your storm sweater, I have never noticed dye in the blocking water. I really hope your cute headband doesn't have that issue though! And I totally forgot about lasenza girl haha! Oh the nostalgia I have for the strangest outfits I picked out from there.

    I recently made a beyond basic sweatshirt in the kfo heavy merino, I really like it so far! It's definitely soft especially after blocking, but yes it does feel a little dryer than some other merinos I've tried. It feels very nice against my skin, no complaints there, hopefully it'll last well

    Is the shoulder on the Eva an English Tailored shoulder?

  • @unichan5

    @unichan5

    @mummyevans2 Yes, that‘s English tailoring, maybe combined with raglan increases. I’m not familiar with the pattern Bub the characteristic is the slope that goes along the back of the shoulder. I actually wanted to comment this as well as I really like the fit of English tailoring and how it is constructed 😊

    Aren’t you worried about the hot water bottle breaking open/leaking and burning you? I think about this every time someone talks about sleeping with a hot water bottle 😅
