There were so many great varieties of chili here. We always enjoy this event. The snow people are so fun to find while walking down the streets of Gatlinburg. We keep talking about coming up to Wilmington soon to talk about the history and film at the General Denver, but at a minimum, we're going to stop at King's Island for Winterfest. That's a bummer that we missed y'all at Dollywood, we would have really enjoyed the opportunity to meet y'all. We hope that you guys had a great time at Dollywood. Yes, pbj goes good with a bowl of chili. I can remember back in elementary school thru middle lunch room ladies used to serve that. I live near Dalton, Ga. In the south. Small town close to Tn/Ga line. They stop severing it when o made to high school cause lot kids had allergies to peanuts lot of other stuff disappeared from the school lunch menu. I'm 41 now still remember that comfort food. 😊😅 🤣. Looks like Gatlinburg had some good chili this year. Enjoy all your content.

We where going to go, but we had to pack our suitcases. We had a wonderful time in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.

Nearly all of the chilis were pretty good. We wish that the booths would rank their heat level so everyone would know ahead of time if their chilis are spicy or not. The chili cookoff is always such a fun time. Thanks so much for watching, Casey. We hope that you have an amazing weekend.

Great video guys! Looks like a lot of fun, and I’m hoping maybe we’ll be able to be there for next year’s! Also, being from Indiana, I refuse to eat chili at home without a peanut butter sandwich, it’s a must have! Also, I like to cut slices of cheddar or Colby cheese and top them with peanut butter to have along with it. That’s probably the weirdest thing, but I love it!

I have had peanut butter sandwich with chili. If it's a really spicy chili, the peanut butter will take the burn out of your mouth. Who ended up winning? Thanks for the mini town tour also. Always love seeing the lights out there. Do ya'll plan on being around town anytime from the 4th to the 8th of Dec.? We may be out for my birthday. That's a really good point about the peanut butter taking out the burn of the spices. We're actually not sure who won this year. We had to unfortunately leave before they announced the winner. One our way back to the hotel, we passed the cookoff as they were dismissing and asked some people who were leaving if they knew who won. They said that so many people won awards that they couldn't remember who won the judges choice and the people's choice. They have a lot of other awards such as the best booth too. Once we figure out who won, we'll pin it in the comments. Unfortunately, we won't be in the mountains that week. We would have really enjoyed meeting you and hanging out at a restaurant with you. It sounds like you will really have a fun birthday week. Hopefully one of these days we'll be in the mountains at the same time that you're also in town. Have a great weekend, Cathy! God bless!

All of the International Chili Society booths had mild to very high heat levels - you would have really enjoyed them. The cookoff usually has a little more variety, but this year a lot of the chilis were very similar to one another. It's a really great event.

1st~I KNEW Jennifer was the "spoon lady" but you shouldn't have given Steph and Jeremy any cause they were eating that weird green stuff. ;) I remember the ordeal last year when the spoons got thrown away and you were saved. lol But THIS>>>>my biggest comment was gonna be WHERE'S THE PB SANDWICH Brent but you beat me to it. Seriously just pack a whole bunch before you go next time! I guess a grilled cheese could be a second choice. Did you get a new camera? The closeups look very clear! We tried some of the weird green stuff and realized that we didn't really enjoy it. The traditional chili styles were much better. It's so natural to throw the spoons away and not event think twice about it. It's great to hear that you also know about the awesome combo of PB sandwiches and chili and that's a really clever idea to pack some for next year! We use two different cameras for filming but the one that we used in this video is the one that we use the most often. The natural lighting was in our favor with the clearness. We'd love to attend a chili cookoff in Texas. We bet that the chili is amazing. Fruit is not too common in chilis here in Tennessee, but beans are almost always a main ingredient next to the meat in chili.

We missed it this year. We missed about 3 of the booths and that was one of them. Because we had so much chili with the International Chili Society booths beforehand, we were starting to become too full to do any more tastings. We heard that his was excellent. We tried his last year and really enjoyed it.

That’s the only way my wife will eat chili is with a peanut butter sandwich

Fun fact if your chili 🌶️ has beans in it then it’s not chili and should be disqualified 😝

@@jamesboswell760Are potatoes just filler in beef stew? Are noodles just filler in chicken soup? Neither potatoes nor noodles add much flavor, either, but people generally like a starchy component in the soups & stews, not just meat, because it makes them feel more like a meal. The ICS allows beans in their "Homestyle" chili category, just not in the "Traditional Red" category. Fun fact, beans have been used in chili since the 1800s, even before cumin was added.
