Nelsons Greenbriar is good stuff i use it in whiskey sours I tend to like oak bomb whiskeys because im a winemaker and I use a lot of new american oak in my wines.

Speaking of Rye recommendations, A must try is the "Pikesville 110 proof". Very good on nose, cherry cola, rye spice, brown sugar on palette, with a flaming chocolate covered cherry on the finish. In my humble opinion, It's probably the best I have had out of the fairly easy to get Ryes below $50

I think J Henrry uses the red heritage corn too. They got it from UW Wisconsin to grow on their farm to barrel idea.

If you’re looking for something different try something from tamworth distillery in New Hampshire. They have crab flavored whiskey and beaver gland whiskey. There is also bib whiskey

My bottle of Jeptha Creed Bloody Butcher must be a bad bottle. It’s terrible! I tried it when I was at the distillery 2 years ago. I loved it there. Got a bottle home and it sucks! I’m glad you like it. I really hope my bottle is bad.

I'd recommend getting some lower proof, maybe 90 proof at the most. Get a little variety of reasonably priced bourbon. Benchmark Top Floor, Redwood Empire Pipe Dream, Old Forester, Green River Wheated, or a Buffalo trace. I'm not sure of the availability or pricing on those in Alabama, but they are all wonderful whiskeys to open your pallet up.

From Peerless distillery store: Small Batch DO Bourbon $134.00 Small Batch DO Rye $149.00

Mississippi River Distilling does some cool things. They team up with three other distilleries every year to release the Four Kings bottling. One I wouldn't recommend, Cat’s Eye Distillery. They really overhype their basic MGP blends.

Hello Brewzle or anyone in the comments. Just looking for an honest opinion about a price point and if it is a good price or not. I was hunting a couple of days ago and I walked into a abc store in the next town over from me and sitting behind the counter on the top shelf was 2 WILLET 8 Year Purple Tops for $299 each and 6 RARE PERFECTION’S For $149 each. Just wondering if this I a good buy or not.

Nelson’s Greenbriar is the worst whiskey I’ve ever had.

The ones that are complaining about you washing out Glens or drinking water out of a plastic bottle, are the ones that drink their bourbon with their pinky out. They can go someone else to get their content 🙄

100% agree that C923, and most Larceny and ECBP are better than Stagg Jr. Stagg is so massively over rated.
