Gatecreeper, one of the most exciting new bands in death metal, absolutely destroyed the Ronnie James Dio Stage at Bloodstock Open Air 2023 on Friday, August 11th, 2023. This is a must-watch for any fan of the genre.
The Arizona death metal band delivered a full set of crushing riffs, relentless energy, and brutal vocals. The crowd was absolutely into it from the start, and the band fed off of the energy, delivering a performance that was both intense and memorable.
The setlist featured a mix of songs from their two EPs, An Unexpected Reality and Desperation, as well as their upcoming debut album. The band also threw in a cover of the classic Obituary song "Slowly We Rot" for good measure.
If you're a fan of death metal, then you need to check out this full set performance from Gatecreeper at Bloodstock Open Air 2023. It's one of the best death metal live performances I've ever seen.

Floated the Atlantic Ocean with them last fall. Kicked ass live. Nice to see a young band bring back some death metal. Super cool guys too. Didn’t shy away from hanging with everyone.
Sounds so old-school. What a great job. It's like they were born and raised with death metal classics

...sooo good live! A somewhat common experience for me - I often just listen to the live stuff more than studio for that reason. Live sound tech's :) adjusting levels in real time@@ryeweskey
My first 5 seconds of every hearing this band and i fucking love them already.
Never heard these guys before. As someone who's been listening to deathmetal/grindcore/blackmetal since 1992.... and been playing drums in the scene since 97'.... I think these guys are AWESOME!!! It's refreshing.

If you haven’t by now make sure you listen to all their records, their new album dark superstition just released today and like their others it’s awesome, more melodic than past releases but a very good mix of old school Swedish death metal and melodeath. If these guys ever come to your area don’t miss them, legit as good as any metal band in the planet, they’re incredible to see live and when they’re an opening they pretty much always sound better than the bands they open for, they opened for cannibal corpse a little while back and no hate to cannibal corpse but Gatecreeper 100% sounded better. Last year they opened a few shows for Amon amarth and sounded better. They’re opening for in flames later this year and it’s pretty much a guarantee they will sound better live too. Anyway I’m rambling but Gatecreeper is awesome and one of the small amount of bands that’s sound as good and imo actually better live than in studio, must see if they’re in your area

Chase is a legend, totally rocks that fuckin Stache and he’s easily one of the best live death metal vocalists in the business on top of the killer stache. Years back he had shaved the Stache off and he just didn’t look right anymore lol. It would be like seeing borat without the stache
Saw them with Kamikaze Zombie, Power Trip, and Cannibal Corpse in Birmingham, AL several years ago. Awesome then, awesome now.

Chase is legit one of the absolute best live death metal vocalists, dude sounds even better live. Gatecreeper in general are the absolute cream of the crop these days when it comes to live metal bands, they sound so good and pretty much always sound better than whoever they open for whether it’s cannibal corpse or Amon amarth or in flames
Man, i miss to watch them here in Manila last March 30. Hope i can watch them in the near future in any country in South East Asia.

I've never really been a fan of vocals with clean breaks back and forth between growls. I will however make an exception for Howard Jones. 😎 It's heavy as hell though, the instrumentals have a mean old school vibe that I can appreciate.
