Not really, no. Anime is quite a shitty one (as well as the series as whole), actually. But characters are great, and it has some unexpectedly good moments (like a very realistic depiction of libtards)

I think Lord of the Rings would win for a lot of reasons

This anime is special not for the fight scenes, but rather just for seeing how two worlds handle the power imbalance and their worlds being up-ended. Politics in the medieval world, politics in our world, and hell even the medieval soldiers who went insane after seeing their bretheren chopped down instantaneously. That's why I love it.

I feel like that's why I kind of lost interest in it. The idea of a fantasy world spilling over into ours by another dimension or whatever is intriguing, but this just didn't hook me.

Hydranoyd1 now that I think about it, what age did rosary stop aging? Because mentally she’s 900+ year old, but physically she’s whatever age she stopped aging. So does it technically mean she’s that age forever? Meaning it’ll depend on when she stopped aging?

I really want a third season but I know it most likely happen, If there is a third season i want there to be a new character just so they can introduce the mc with his full title and achievements, them start getting really nervous and then it’s just him.... (in all his glory)

@@Shackospeare To be fair, they didn't rescue Pina during the embassy rescue in the manga either. But one thing they did skip, and I'm sad they did, was the battle against the Minotaur. That gave me such a Shadow of theColossus vibe! I really wish they could've fit that in!

@@olp3850 Rory isn't a sociopath. A sociopath is someone who views people as mere objects, with no more emotional value than a toaster. She's a priestess of death, someone who kills because her god calls for it. She almost exclusively kills other killers, and civilians are quite safe around her. She shows that she cares about other characters, and even takes risks to protect them.

I know right. The first time I was watching it, I expected the monsters and dragons to be immune to the bullets as usually but SURPRISE. They murdered the empire when they attacked Japan, I absolutely loved that battle.

If you put one of those in a decent series with potential to fail, that character will ABSOLUTELY carry the show if used when there´s no good plot at all and you need a failsafe. DaL uses this by making Kurumi killable and unkillable at the same time.

After I heard this opening, I thought that the band sounded familiar to me. Turns out this is the same band that did the opening for highschool of the dead.

Gate is Operation Desert Storm: the Movie and I'm loving every second of it

I remember being so obsessed over this anime and this opening back in the day! I'd put on repeat for hours on end, it's just that good. I miss discovering new interesting anime, even if it's kinda bad, but enjoyable regardless.

This will always be one of my favorite openings and one of my favorite songs. So upbeat and fun!

It's a shame this anime was so short. Could've easily extended it a few more seasons at the least. Great concept though. Kudos to the creator.

As a military guy who’s also a big nerd I like having a main character I can relate to

AMC acquired Sentai so it was likely their decision Not to renew with cruchyroll and have most of their anime exclusive to HIDIVE

It is a less interesting story than it would be if its writer were not committed to fellating the JSDF. I said that GATE is blatant propaganda and that therefore we don't need more military anime like this. We were never talking about US media, nor did my statement in any way suggest that we *do* need more of this type of media from the US.

personally, the drama and trauma of Re:Zero and the inhuman strategy of NGNL are much more appealing to me; and both hold a closer spot in my heart, within the isekai genre. but i can't deny that, GATE's illustration of a highly advanced society of our modern age interacting with an isolated and effectively medieval society in both battle and in politics, was fairly gripping when i first saw it. not to mention the implications of magic.

1:00 damn, reflection in the eyes always makes the scene wallpaper worthy in any anime, i just love it so much 🥰😍

It's amazing how even the side characters have screen time and are loveable.
