Sir I am was and am your student this year i got air 349 in gate 2024 cs. This year no. of candidate was double. If I had known that before I might not prepared for gate and day by day competition is also increasing. Gate was lucrative in 2018 but not that lucrative now and product companies are also hiring off campus more. IIT also falling to give placement. I understand why u switched from gate to study abroad and now dsa because it was according to market condition and now study aboard is also not going good. Please make a detailed video on this because we as student feel very confused that god of gate cse is telling to do other things than gate because now gate is not that lucrative. Every path is towards success only some required less time some more.

Sir if you start DSA with Java, it would be very very great lecture and very helpful to all the students like me who are following you for tech career🙏🙏🙏

There is no need for a separate video on this. BARC, DRDO, ISRO and many other PSUs conduct their own entrance exam to hire people. Also, most of the PSUs also take people having good GATE scores in their respective branches.

If you want to reshape your career, then you should look at both. DSA will be a backup plan for your GATE preparation as you have full time for your preparation. Give 60% time for GATE and 40% time for DSA. You should make your days/time count so that you can compensate the lost time.

DSA is something that a CSE student is minimum expected to know. You can learn anything in addition to that.

We might not be able to do that as we are working on bringing a different course in the next few months.

Guys don't listen to this guy. And this is coming from a huge Ravula fan ( I went against my father for this guy) He's an outstanding teacher but at the end a businessman, out here to make money. GATE prep nah karke, dsa and dev ney time lagao. GATE clear hobhi gaya toh you'll need extra 2 years to complete the course even if IIT Bombay/ IISC. You can crack a good enough company if you invest that time elsewhere with a similar package like you'd get from a reputed college. I'm from a tier 3 college with 25 lpa package with 6 years experience ( coz I wasted 2-3 years on GATE prep). Had I not gotten into ravula hype, I would have made it even sooner. Use your head. Most likely this comment will get deleted....

Being a grateful student of RBR sir who cracked GATE with very good rank and secured a very good job through campus placements, I can surely say whatever sir is speaking regarding GATE that is 100% true.However due to recent changes in tech interviews, I think DSA part is harder than before, and someone preparing for Pdt based job has to prepare hard enough because questions may not come from standard questions and the student should be ready for those situations as well.

First build your skills and knowledge so that you can apply and compete with people with less experience and decent knowledge. Knowledge and Skills are the primary reason to get shortlisted.

IIT students are special . They are more potent in all aspects . DSA is just salary that's it .

Also, you should look at the market, jobs, hiring trends and then choose what you should do accordingly. What is right for me need not be right for you.
