Hello my Gastric Sleeve Friends. Had my sleeve done June 15, 2015 I am so happy I made the right choice. Trust me I was a huge chicken going into this but now that its all done I feel so much better. Sore and a little pain but I know in time I will be all better. I went in at 274 I have not yet seen my post op doctor till next Thursday so don't know how much I have lost or if I lost anything at all. I have been wanting to do this procedure for years and my hubby will talk me out of it. NOT this time....I will keep everyone posted.

Had my sleeve done exactly 14 days ago to-day. Went into Hospital at 7am, had the op at 9am and back into bed for 10am. The next day I was up at 7am - and walking around. To cut a long story short, by 3pm I was back home. God bless our National Health Service.

I am so glad to see your post. I too researched and researched and thought I was pretty prepared for the surgery but was not as I found out afterward. The pain is incredible. Thanks for sharing.

Glad to hear you are home and doing better! You sure look well. 125 kilos is 275 pounds, which I'm not far from. I sure hope I feel as postive after my sleeve as you sound. Time for a new video! I'm excited to hear how you are this week.

I just had my sleeve four days ago. I had the same experience with the pain and not being able to drink anything. They had to keep me in the hospital for three nights total because I wasn't getting in enough fluids.I am home now and feeling much better. But it's still difficult to get all of my fluids and protein in. The pain when I woke up was extremely bad. I was almost in tears for 24 hours after I woke up despite the pain meds. I don't think you were being a wus. It's just really, really painful.

Hey! sorry I took so long to reply! I haven't checked this in a few weeks. How are you feeling nearly three weeks on? I cant remember craving food for a few weeks but everyone is totally different. I'm so impressed that you're walking each day. I didnt leave my bed for atleast 7 days. I didn't really realise at the time but I also had two operations in one as I suffered bad reflux and my surgeon also corrected what damage this had done to my esophagus. Day 14 I ate tuna. First solid... AMAZING!!

Hi, just had mine 5 days ago, I remain in the theatre room for 6 good hours, and I remember coming out practically not breathing... the surgeons/teams was great, am in pain, been discharge two days, and was supposed to had painkillers but didn't had any today after two days will go and get it. I'm happy to had decided to do the sleeve but I feel let down no matter what. Nonetheless, I so determinate to look forward to better my self. thanks for the video.

Hi! It seems that 4 days in hospital is quite normal? A friend of mine went home after 2 nights so I suppose if youre doing great they'll move you on. I definately could not have gone home after one night I was still using my strong pain relief until day three. Good luck and let us know how you go! :)

thanks for replying.i'm hoping to loose at least 70 lbs. the most would be 100lbs. however, for my height, ideally i should loose over 125 which at my age, i feel it will be so much so 80 to 90 would be perfect. loosing any kind of weight is mind blowing for me. i can't even imagine getting under 200 lbs. i'm 248 right now.i have been over 200 lbs for 24 yrs. i will be starting my pre-op diet on Jan.1st. i feel is perfect. I'm very excited and my family is too. wish me luck

Well done to you. Are you in Australia? I've just had my op done on Monday and last night I had the worst pain ever. I can't be bothered eating and am just not interested at all. It takes me 2 hours to get a milkshake down (optifast). I was wondering how you went with pain after the operation - did it get worse than better? My pain was the worst it had been last night and made me feel like vomitting and I had to get up as laying down was too uncomfortable - I'm assuming this is all part and parcel of this op? Thanks for your videos, please keep us update and well done again

I had to be on liquids for 10 days pre op and the day before only clear liquids...currently I am 17 days post op and still on stage 1...I wonder if this is what my Dr prefers.

hey !!! yeah i'm chewing and eating pretty slow, though i'm not eating much, i'm eating too many times... is that the case with you too ? if i don't eat every two hours, my stomach starts hurting lil bit oz of hunger... jus worried about that... and recently from the past 2 weeks (Week 2 n 3) i haven't lost a single pound and walking about 3 miles everyday... :(

I am scheduled to have my sleeve done over spring break next March and return to school the following week. It will be on a Tuesday and I will go back to class the following Monday. I'm really worried because I'm in a nursing program and we spend Wednesdays-Fridays doing clinical at the hospital. I've heard people say it takes the full two weeks to recover/return to work or school and I've heard people say it only takes them a few days. Any advice or opinions are extremely helpful!

I actually had to start the process all over again with another doctor because of insurance issues. It's a military doctor so they make you wait an entire year before surgery if you were a smoker. I quit in January so I won't be getting mine until next January :(

I've just submitted the paperwork to the insurance on 11/2, they told me it take the ins. co. 24hrs to 30 days to respond.i can't wait, i'm trying not think about it. but i'm still researching videos to learn from other people's experience. i've been told i will only be in the hospital for 1 overnight stay. how come you were there for 3 days?

I had the sleeve done on the 4th of July 2016, only a few days ago. I'm regretting it. I don't know what to eat, I can't handle anymore broth. Someone told me to have an opti shake and it went straight through me. Any ideas what I can eat?

I had my surgery July 5th 2016 and I just got out of the hospital today. You should be walking at least 60 mins a day so 6 times ten minutes a piece and 60 grams of protein, becareful for air bubbles and you should consume 62 ounces of water. You can have cream of wheat, jello, sugar free popsicles. If you drink juice do 50/50 water/juice.
