Gasland Tankless Water Heater review

My hot water heater went out in the house and it will not be repaired for a few weeks. I purchased this portable propane water heater to get me by until then. I was interested in creating an outdoor shower eventually anyway so it was time to purchase this.

Thanks, that was the best no nonsense review of the unit actually operating. Hooking mine up this weekend.

Thanks. It’s really been a handy unit. I plan to make a permanent outdoor shower with it soon.

Thanks for this review. We're about to completely remodel our home's only bathroom, so I'll be purchasing one too. Your review and exploration of the knob settings was exactly what I needed to see before buying! 🤓

Very well done excellent review! They make two models one is a 3 gallon per minute the other one is almost 2 gallons per minute. How much propane does it consume? And does anybody have any idea if it's worth the cost difference

I wish I would've seen hose hook up. I need to be able to use my hose, and I found the fixed hose adapter on other units to be a pain!

I know this unit hooks up easily to a regular garden hose which is what I use. It was easy and didn't leak.

This is promoted as portable, take to beach, etc...how is that practical? Does it have a carry case and stand? How does it work if you don't have a way to hang it from something or want to mount it?

  • @Subariblet

I would say it isn't very portable. It does not come with a stand do it must be hung somewhere. If you took it anywhere without a water source, you would have to put a portable water source above the unit so gravity would force water into the heater. The flow rate would be poor due to not having much pressure.

@@Subariblet Thanks! I'll stick to my $20 camp shower! Works awesome, I just boil water in a kettle and put it in a 5 gallon bucket.

My guess is your water pressure may be to low causing a slower flow. My water pressure is pretty high

@@Subariblet I think your right .Thanks. I'm just using a huge water tank with gravity pressure from a hill(probably not enough pressure). Guess I will have to hook up pump again and use my genny.

@@ryanberthelette8801 I saw there's another version of this (different brand) that includes a water pump in the box, but it's quite a bit more expensive. But I found the pump for sale on Amazon by itself for $30. I think I'll be buying this unit for when we remodel our sole bathroom... and when we go camping I'll pick up a cheap pump.

@@ryanberthelette8801 I agree, but then again, pros & cons... external means you can control the quality of the pump yourself, and replace easily if you ever need to. More complex all in one unit means more can go wrong, the unit would be larger, and price goes up. Sure would be more convenient, though.

Garbage. Not even a month in, the thing starts heats up, im in the shower nice and hot then BOOM outta nowhere power goes out and insanely cold water follows. Do not buy, these things suck
