Excellent video! Thanks. I had the same stiff clutch on my 2003 TXT Pro 280. After watching this video (and much research on Internet) I pulled my clutch and found virtually the same scenario. Now the clutch is buttery smooth, and only 1 finger to pull, as opposed to 2-3.

Hmmm, my discs are sitting at about 10.2mm as well on my 02 txt pro 280. I guess I'll try sanding them down; they just seem so thin as is! Can't hurt though. I figured I would have to replace them anyway. Rebuilding the master cylinder while I'm at it because it's just absolutely stupid hard to pull and doesn't really disengage it :/ Great video though! Serving people 9 years later haha. It's about the only thing I can find online about this issue.

Thanks for the video. Had the same problem with my 2005 TXT Pro 300. Clutch pack was over the 10mm and required the strength of a gorilla. Only problem was finding a suitable surface to sand the plates...wife's plate glass coffee table to the rescue. Clutch now a pleasure to operate.

Do you need to air the clutch after you've done this?

You didn't take them out correctly or in the order they came in on the side that they were touching each other. So your measurement is incorrect.
